Former Japanese champion Vissel Kobe has signed Michael Skibbe as the successor to outgoing head coach Takayuki Yoshida. This was announced by the J-League club on Sunday. Skibbe previously spent four seasons with league rivals Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In Germany, the 60-year-old coached BVB, Leverkusen, Frankfurt and Hertha, among others. Skibbe formed the dual leadership of the national team between 2000 and 2004 alongside Rudi Völler.
