Niklas Stark is in talks with Werder Bremen about extending his contract, which is currently valid until 2026. The signs are good that the 30-year-old will not be leaving Osterdeich after just three seasons. Stark signaled early on that he could see himself staying on the Weser: “I think if you look at the last few years, they have been very successful for Werder—and for me too.” Under new coach Horst Steffen, the center back could also see more action in the back four.
