After more than 14 years as a professional in the FC Basel jersey, Taulant Xhaka (33) will end his career this summer. The “Aggressive Leader” has played for FCB since 2011 – in 406 games so far. With Fabian Frei (543) and Valentin Stocker (416), only two players have made more appearances in red and blue than the midfielder and brother of Leverkusen’s Granit Xhaka, who is quitting early despite having a contract valid until 2027. And before that, he wants to become champion and cup winner with Basel again. Xhaka is currently undergoing coaching training.
