NFL 2024/25: Texans – Colts

Will there be a preliminary decision in the battle for the division win in the AFC South on Sunday? I rather expect a longer duel that will possibly last until the end.

My Texans Colts tip is that the fans of the “Dolts” could be doubly pleased on Sunday. On the one hand, they can look forward to a temporary conquest of the top spot and a successful revenge for the defeat suffered in Week 1 …

The AFC South is always a wild ride every year, and this season is certainly no exception. The Texans and Colts are on the verge of one of the most crucial matchups of the season.

The Texans have had a mixed season so far. Although they have shown some strong performances, there have also been some weaknesses.

They have been able to keep some games close in recent weeks, but bad luck with injuries, especially on offense, has taken its toll.

Nico Collins, one of their key players, will be missing this week, further weakening their already battered offense. In addition, several defensive players are also banged up, which could be dangerous against the Colts’ potent offense.

On the other side are the Colts, who are proving to be real fighters this season. Despite numerous injuries and difficult phases, they have a great record of 4-3.

And that’s no small feat when you consider that their three losses have only been decided by a total of 11 points. Above all, quarterback Anthony Richardson and the resilient Jonathan Taylor could make the difference in this match.

The latter is back after a long injury layoff and will probably be able to gain a few yards against the Texans’ battered defense. In any case, I expect the “Dolts” to make a lot of running plays.

However, even though the Colts are in good form at the moment, we shouldn’t write off the Texans completely. Especially in close games, they have proven to be tenacious.

In fact, most of their games this season have been decided by less than six points, which shows that despite their sudden drops in performance, they can always come back.

However, it will be tough to “come back” against the Colts, who are almost back to full strength, especially as they have steadily improved in recent weeks and now pose a threat away from home.

Overall, it looks like the Colts have the edge. They are healthier at the moment, have a stronger squad and a better form curve.

The first meeting between these two teams in Week 1 was a real thriller, which the Texans narrowly won 29:27.

However, the signs were different back then: The Texans were at full strength, while the Colts had not yet found their current form.

The Texans’ battered defense in particular, which has repeatedly shown weaknesses over the course of the season, will now be subjected to a real stress test.

If the Colts manage to fully utilize their offensive power, it could be another setback for Houston and possibly even the beginning of the end.

Now we come to the easiest part of my Texans Colts prediction: the best bet at any bookmaker with Apple Pay as a payment feature.

Nothing easier than that, because instead of assuming a coin flip scenario, the bookies are favoring the Texans at what I consider to be completely nonsensical odds of about 1.43 to 3.00.

You could, of course, give IND a +3.5 handicap at this point, but that would be giving up premium “value” for me.

Because the tripling that beckons me in the event of success is enough for me to go all out here and trust Indianapolis to win without an additional condition!

Summary: The Colts currently have the better cards, but anything is possible in this division. Both teams have their weaknesses, but the Dolts are in better shape right now.

So if you’re thinking about who to bet on, then betting on the Colts with the six-point handicap could be a good, less risky option.

But personally, I want to take full risk here and grab the handsome away win odds as a whole that the bookies are currently offering.

My Texans Colts tip is therefore: Indianapolis to win
