Jan Thielmann is staying loyal to 1. FC Köln. As the cathedral city club announced on Saturday afternoon during its season opener, the 23-year-old has extended his contract, which was due to expire in 2026, by two years until 2028. “We hope that his character and mentality will enable him to take on more and more responsibility in the coming years and assume a leadership role in our team,” said sporting director Thomas Kessler in the club statement.
