This is Austria’s ski jumping star Daniel Tschofenig: girlfriend, career, parents, fortune & his career helper

Yes, are they sending two teams to the team jumping competition soon? If you’re keeping your fingers crossed for the Austrian ski jumpers this winter 2024, you’re in for a wonderful time – because the ÖSV team doesn’t even know who the best of the best is.

With Daniel Tschofenig, a man has now joined the team who many did not even have that high on their list. The newcomer stood at the top of the podium for the first time in December 2024 – and a few weeks later he won the 2024/25 Four Hills Tournament!

Who is this Daniel Tschofenig?

How his ski jumping career began – and with whose help it succeeded. Who is Daniel Tschofenig’s girlfriend and what else does he do besides ski jumping?

This is how Tschofenig’s career went: into the world elite at 22!

Daniel Tschofenig’s career began in July 2018, when the then 16-year-old finished 44th in the FIS Cup in his home town of Villach. It would take until December 2020 before he made it to the Continental Cup.

It was no longer a long way into the World Cup circus, as his name appeared at the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen on January 6, 2021. At the time, 30th place meant the very first point in the World Cup.

Tschofenig was not yet allowed to take part in the 2021 World Championships, but became Junior World Champion in the team competition. In the following season, 2021/22, the time had finally come: the Austrian had finally stabilized in the World Cup.

He finished the 2021/22 season in 25th place overall in the World Cup, regularly jumping into the second round and thus into the points. One year later, he finished 9th overall and 11th at the end of the 2023/24 season. There was no doubt that Tschofenig was now an integral part of the Austrian team.

Steckbrief Daniel Tschofenig: Woman, height, age

He jumped well, but there was almost always someone nationally who was a little better. Usually there were even two or three. And so it would take until December 2024 before Tschofenig’s career experienced an absolute highlight.

Tschofenig triumphed from the large hill in Wisla (POL)! Two days before Christmas, the “Tschofenig Airlines” took off in Engelberg (SUI) and once again landed in first place.

These were no fluke victories; the Four Hills Tournament 2024/25 at the latest showed that Tschofenig’s ski jumping career was taking off: victory at the New Year’s competition in Garmisch on January 1, 2025 and then triumph at the Epiphany competition in Bischofshofen five days later.

Tschofenig also won the Four Hills Tournament! Without a doubt, the greatest triumph of his still young career!

Daniel Tschofenig’s girlfriend: a winter sports dream couple!

In the ski jumping circus, there are some stars who don’t make their private lives public and who leave us guessing as to whether they are in steady hands or not.

The young Austrian is a different story, because anyone who keeps up with the women’s show jumping competition will know: Daniel Tschofenig’s girlfriend is no stranger, quite the opposite!

The Carinthian has been in a relationship with Alexandria Louttit, a Canadian ski jumper, for several years. She made a real splash at the 2023 World Championships, winning the gold medal and putting her ahead of Daniel – for now.

And so Tschofenig and girlfriend Alex like to share their moments together with their fans on social media. And it’s striking: The Canadian feels at home in Carinthia, and the latest Christmas photos were also taken there.

Mama Monika confirms: Alex has already learned how to make cheese noodles from his grandma – and we all know that the way to the heart is through the stomach!

The men’s and women’s World Cups now regularly take place at the same venues. For Tschofenig and his girlfriend, this is of course a great advantage, as it means they can run into each other during the long season.

The two are not reticent about their young love; Alexandria’s Instagram profile is filled to the brim with naughty photos and moments, which seems to have inspired both of them so far!

Daniel Tschofenig: Prize money and fortune

The Daniel Tschofenig fortune is one of those things; after all, a ski jumper earns very different sums to a professional who plays soccer, basketball or soccer – and, as we all know, there are no contracts.

In this respect, you have to use a few calculation examples to work it out. 9th place in the overall World Cup 2022/23 earned Tschofenig prize money of 127,000 euros. As he finished eleventh a year later, he collected slightly less in bonuses.

In the 2024/25 season, however, Tschofenig’s prize money will be significantly higher thanks to various victories and podium finishes. Much higher

An individual victory at the Four Hills Tournament brings in a good 10,000 euros – and the youngster snatched this up with his victory at the 2025 Garmisch New Year’s Ski Jumping Competition and the Three Kings’ Ski Jumping Competition in Bischofshofen.

He also collected another 100,000 euros with his overall victory at the 2024/25 Four Hills Tournament. Meaning: With this prize money, the Tschofenig fortune grows by 100,000 euros in one fell swoop!

Regardless of the Tschofenig prize money, there is another lucrative source of income: Red Bull is the sponsor of the Austrian high-flyer and the soda company is known to provide its protégés with very good contracts. These usually also include performance bonuses.

Tschofenig’s fortune will therefore already be considerable and will definitely continue to grow considerably if he stays on the road to success.

And who knows, maybe one day he will come close to Austria’s top eagle Stefan Kraft, who has already won everything there is to win in his ski jumping career – and has therefore already become a small millionaire.

Tschofenig role model & mentor: Thank you, Andreas Goldberger!

Ski jumping was not the only sporting passion in Daniel Tschofenig’s life. At first, it looked as if the Austrian would make it among the best in soccer!

Until he was twelve years old, the current ski jumper wore the jersey of SV Draschitz, where he was one of the best. It is thanks to Andreas Goldberger that he finally decided against the round leather.

At the so-called “Goldi-Cup”, which took place in Villingen, Tschofenig was convinced by Goldberger to pursue a career in ski jumping. No wonder the “talent scout” from back then is now particularly proud of his young compatriot. Especially after winning the Four Hills Tournament 2024/25.
