Tottenham – ManCity betting tip, prediction & odds 26.02.2025

Premier League matchday 27, Wednesday, 26.02.2025 at 20:30

The Premier League title question seems to be decided! Liverpool FC can’t be beaten and Manchester City, who are still champions, will soon have to congratulate them. But first, the Skyblues have to realize their own goals, and they are quite modest in 2024/25!

A place in the top four is the ultimate goal; at the moment, they could quickly slip back to seventh place. In my Tottenham ManCity betting tip, the fans will certainly be looking very closely to see whether I’m giving their team the role of favorite.

Spurs, who are having an incredibly difficult season, seem to be finding their feet and have won three games in a row for the first time this season. And watch out, City: It was only in November that they suffered a 4-0 thrashing against this opponent that no supporter has yet forgotten.

In my analysis, I’ll tell you why I’m taking an offensive approach here and say: Goals will be scored on both sides, and the total should break 2.5.

For the home side, the season finale is all about somehow still attacking the international competition, so of course they need a real comeback. There’s no question about it: if they want to do that, they’ll have to get rid of opponents like Manchester City.

The bookmakers’ predictions?

Tottenham have won their last three league games, and Spurs have also won two in a row against ManCity. And yet, our PayPal bookmakers don’t favor them on Wednesday, with the odds averaging 3.35.

The visitors from Manchester are therefore better off, even though they have won just five of their 13 away games. If you go for a simple away win, the average odds climb to 1.95.

A draw would leave both teams stagnating. There has not been a draw in this duel played on London soil since August 2008, but if you take the risk of sharing the points anyway, you can look forward to odds of 4.20.

Analysis: Tottenham vs Man City

A duel of the giants? In name only at best! When Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City meet on Wednesday evening, the fans in the stands will probably be discussing many a defeat.

Both are playing a season that is by no means up to their own standards. Let’s start with the still-champions Manchester City, who have of course long since given up on defending their title.

The gap to Liverpool is 20 points, so it doesn’t make much difference that the Reds have played one more game. The big, still inexplicable slump came last November.

17 match days have been played since then, six of which ended with three points. At the moment, it looks as if City are simply trying to salvage fourth place, as they are already out of the Champions League anyway.

Rating Analysis

The Citizens still don’t particularly impress me away from home. That’s why I think we’ll see a really close, exciting game and that Spurs will manage to come out on top.

Eight of Spurs’ 13 home games have featured more than one goal before the break. Therefore, I can imagine that both teams will start their attacks quickly on Wednesday, and if the 1.5 goal mark is broken in the first 45 minutes, odds of 1.93 are due at Betano. On top of that, the Betano bonus code is also waiting for you here.

If I had to decide on a result bet, my choice would be a 3:1 for the home side (rewarded with odds of 26.0!). Tottenham have only lost one league home game against City since 2018, and the visitors recently conceded five goals at Arsenal FC.

City with big problems away from home

With four wins and a draw, the Sky Blues had actually entered a more stable phase again, and the fans were particularly pleased about the 17 goals. The 1:5 defeat at FC Arsenal finally ended this streak with a bang.

Although they went on to win 4-0 against Newcastle, the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool brought Guardiola’s team back down to earth. Against the best in the league, it’s just not good enough anymore.

Only two of their last nine away games have ended with three points, with Ipswich and Leicester among the worst opponents in the competition, both below the line.

Tottenham can be a difficult opponent!

Since matchday number one, which brought a 2-0 win against Chelsea, these two appearances were also the only ones away from home that did not result in goals conceded. The away table? City are in tenth place!

Incidentally, Man City have only drawn three times away from home at the break, while all other games have been won by one team. Of course, everyone who supports the Sky Blues knows that there can be no repeat of the first half of the season against Tottenham.

They were beaten 4-0, and City have already been eliminated from the EFL Cp against the north Londoners. For the first time since 2015/16, they could now lose three competitive games in a row, and even then one of those defeats was by four goals.

If I look at the statistics purely in terms of the Premier League, there has only been one win at Tottenham Stadium since October 2018. In that respect, I definitely can’t say that Manchester City will have an easy game on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspurs know full well that they are in their best phase of the season. Only once this season, back in September, have they managed to win twice in a row.

They were bobbing around somewhere in the lower midfield, but now they finally managed to get a real series going. 2:0 against Brentford, 1:0 against Manchester United and 4:1 against Ipswich, the fans cheered three times in a row!

One goal conceded in three games – never before have the north Londoners defended so consistently. They are currently ten points off sixth place and will have to play some serious catch-up to actually reach the European Cup.

53 goals? The offense has never been the problem this season, only Liverpool have a better attack. This club concedes exactly 3.5 goals on average, because two, three or sometimes even six goals are sometimes possible!

The defense is particularly challenged in their own stadium, as they have conceded 23 times in 13 games. The average is climbing once again, a 3.9 is recognizable – despite the recent 1:0 against Man United!

Previously, Tottenham had only picked up two points from six home games, so the win was a real relief for the fans. In four of the last six games at home, they were even ahead at half-time, but unfortunately failed to take the lead in the end.

Tottenham ManCity Tip:

For whom will this 2024/25 season somehow come to a conciliatory end? Neither Manchester City nor Tottenham Hotspurs are in my favor, but of course the Londoners’ current streak has not gone unnoticed.

They have collected three wins in a row, something the visitors have not managed since October. Almost four goals are scored on average at Tottenham Stadium, which is also due to the home side’s very insecure defense.

City are not even in single figures in the away table and have only kept two clean sheets against relegation candidates since August. All of this means that I have decided on the following bet:

With goals on both sides the 2.5 will be cracked!
