Ten points? That’s reassuring, but surely there’s a bit more to come! Paris St. Germain are running away from the competition in Ligue 1 and currently seem to be unbeatable. Will that streak continue on Saturday?
The stars will be playing not far from the Spanish border, and like almost everyone in France, they generally like their opponents.
In my Toulouse PSG betting tip, I reveal why I am tackling the “BTS” here.
Is Paris St. Germain launching the perfect season? The one in which they march through the league completely unbeaten? There are still a few match days left, but after 21 completed rounds, PSG is actually at the top without a single point against their name.
They have won 16 times and drawn five, with, unsurprisingly, the best offensive and defensive records. Is there absolutely nothing I can criticize here?
Not really, because after a very mixed group stage in the Champions League, Paris have drawn a domestic rival for the play-offs in Brest, of all teams, and have already played the first leg.
The result: a 3-0 win for the favorites – and thus the ideal starting position for the rematch next week. They even managed to keep a clean sheet, something that has rarely worked out in Ligue 1 lately.
They have conceded goals for seven days in a row, and although PSG has the best defense, five clean sheets doesn’t sound like much. 5:2 against Brest and 4:1 against Monaco, we can hardly say anything against the last two results, of course.
In 16 of 21 games, PSG have scored before half-time, but I only count six times more than one goal. If you want to bet on a goal in the first half on Saturday, you can just about pick up odds of 1.50 at Interwetten.
Four times exactly that did not work out away from home, I even recognize three times being behind at half-time. So the double chance 1X after 45 minutes is not impossible, would result in an 1.8 at Interwetten. By the way, with the code “SKIWM25” you can get your 11 Euro Freebet at this bookmaker.
When PSG win away from home, they always score at least two own goals. In the last ten games, regardless of the venue, nine goals have been scored from minute 80 – so in addition to immense quality, there are also happy final minutes.
Even in the 3-0 win over Toulouse in the first half of the season, two goals only really came very late. With one defeat from their last twelve direct duels and nine wins at the same time, the Parisians can of course still be satisfied with the most recent history.
In fact, the German bookmakers have been relatively cautious in setting their odds, with the guests receiving an average of 1.53.
Toulouse, on the other hand, start the race with 5.75, so a win would be very surprising, but not a total sensation either.
Tenth place, seven wins, six defeats and eight goals: that not only sounds like a dull midfield, it IS a dull midfield. The Violets are treading water, and with 23 goals scored, they are definitely not among the best in attack.
They have not won in five games, more than any other team this season. On the plus side, three of those games were draws and the defeats were very narrow, 2-1. The meager points tally is all the more annoying, though.
Toulouse is definitely not a team that gets crushed by the best. It was only in the aforementioned 3-0 defeat to PSG in the first half of the season that it was clear, and two goals came really late in the game. Three 2-1 defeats, plus a 3-1 loss to Marseille, twice coming from behind and conceding late goals? The home defeats were not needed at all!
The Violets were only six times behind at half-time, but unfortunately four times at home. The fact that six of the last eight games had a 0-0 score at the break should perhaps not be ignored.
Can Paris St. Germain keep everything under control on Saturday too? At the moment, you don’t get the impression that the stars are letting anything bother them in the domestic competition; they decide for themselves how clear the results are.
For me, Toulouse is one of the teams that can keep up well with most opponents, but still don’t get enough against the top clubs. At the moment, the Violets are in a bit of a crisis anyway.
Paris arrive immediately after the 3-0 in the CL play-off first leg against Brest, knowing that they have a ten-point lead in the league. Since they concede goals quite regularly, I have decided on the following tip:
Both teams score!
