Thomas Tuchel will remain England coach beyond the 2026 World Cup. As the Three Lions announced on Thursday, the German coach has extended his contract until June 2028 – and will thus also sit on the bench at the 2028 European Championships at home, which will take place from June 9 to July 9 in Great Britain and Ireland. Tuchel took over the Three Lions on January 1, 2025 and is the third non-Englishman to hold this post after Sven-Göran Eriksson and Italian Fabio Capello. Tuchel had previously coached FSV Mainz and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga before reaching the final of the 2019/20 Champions League with PSG, but lost to FC Bayern at the time. He made up for the triumph a year later with Chelsea, but his return to the Bundesliga to FC Bayern from March 2023 to February 2024 was not crowned with success.
