NFL 2024/25: Vikings – Bears

The NFC North is crazy strong. With a record of 9-4, the Packers would be in first place in many other divisions, but in their own, that’s only good enough for third place. To make matters worse, the “Purple People Eater” will push the pace at the top in Week 15 as well.
According to my Vikings Bears prediction, they will win their seventh game in a row on Tuesday.
The Vikings from Minnesota are one of the most positive surprises in the NFL this season.
With six wins in a row, the Northmen have proven that they are not only a serious wild card contender, but could even pose a threat to the number one title favorites, the Detroit Lions.
Their most recent triumph against the Falcons was a statement win: a 42:21 victory in which they exploded in the fourth quarter with a 21:0 lead and gave former Vikings QB Kirk Cousins no chance.
The team’s offensive efficiency is particularly striking and has been consistently impressive in recent weeks.
Since week 9, the Vikings have been one of the best offenses in the league, even ranking 6th in the “success rate per play” category.
Minnesota is particularly dangerous at home, scoring almost 29 points per game in its own stadium.
So it’s no wonder that oddsmakers without a tax were already trading them as 6.5- to 7-point favorites against Chicago about a week ago – that hasn’t changed much even hours before kickoff!

Chicago, on the other hand, seem trapped in a season they’d rather forget today than tomorrow. After a solid start – the Bears’ defense even ranked third in the EPA standings through the first six weeks – the team’s problems have continued to pile up.
The dismissal of head coach Matt Eberflus did not bring a breath of fresh air, and Chicago has now lost seven games in a row.
The most recent 17:38 against the 49ers was a further demonstration of their problems, and even young quarterback Caleb Williams was unable to prevent the team from going under again despite some good attempts.
Especially bitter: In the last three games, the Bears’ defense has slipped to 29th place in the EPA and offers little resistance to the opponents. The third away game in a row is likely to further sap their strength, which makes the already slim chances of a win almost nil.
The last time these two teams met in Week 12, the Bears showed fighting spirit and even forced an overtime before losing 27-30. But that game was in Chicago, and the conditions were different then.
Minnesota comes in with more of a tailwind this time around, while the Bears look like a team already preparing for the offseason. The Vikings will look to take advantage of the home field advantage and try to continue to showcase their offense – whether it be through a strong passing game or effective runs.
For you betting fans, the focus is clearly on the hosts. A spread of -6.5 or -7 is quite fair in this starting position, and those of you who bet on Minnesota using the Bwin voucher could make an even higher profit.
The data-based starting position is also clear: The statistics speak massively against Chicago. The Bears have lost their last 13 games against NFC teams on a winning streak – a negative trend that is unlikely to change on Tuesday.
A Vikings win offers you a solid basis for your betting slip with odds of 1.35 if you want to play it safe. These Vikings Bears odds could even be spiced up with an odds boost at some providers.
For those of you who are not afraid of a little more risk, a more aggressive bet might be even more interesting. Minnesota has successfully covered the spread in five of its last six Week 15 matchups against NFC teams.
A handicap win by -6.5 points at odds of around 1.85 therefore looks very tempting here, especially when you consider that the Vikings are currently in top form.
Another interesting fact in this context is that the last six NFL home games won by the Vikings against this opponent have always exceeded the aforementioned 6.5 point difference.
Conclusion: The Vikings are marching unperturbed towards the NFL playoffs, while the Bears are probably just running out the clock until the end of the season.
If you want to take a gamble here, I’d speculate on a handicap win for the Vikings if I were you.
Personally, I expect the “Purple People Eater” to dominate the game from start to finish and not give Chicago a chance.
My Vikings Bears tip: Half time/final score 1/1
