Vojvodina – Maribor betting tip, prediction & odds 15.08.2024

Conference League Quali, 3rd round, second leg, Thursday, 15.08.2024 at 20:00

Vojvodina – never heard of them? Admittedly, then you’re like me! The Serbian club FK Vojodina is only known to those who have been diligently following the lower rounds of international competitions for years.

That’s what I’m taking care of now in my Vojvodina Maribor betting tip, which is about our Conference League qualifying bets. The first leg was very close, and that’s why I would bet that both teams will score again this time

There are almost two million people living in Vojvodina – not that few! The local soccer club FK has been around since 1914, and naturally has no shortage of fans.

Admittedly, there are a few international successes to mention, but only the older ones among you are likely to have heard of them. In 1967, for example, they reached the quarter-finals of the European Champion Clubs’ Cup

It’s been a long time, could there be a new successful generation soon? A year ago, APOEL Nicosia were too strong in the 2nd qualifying round of the Conference League.

A look at the current season reveals that the Europa League has already failed to materialize. The team conceded two defeats against Ajax Amsterdam, both 1-0 and 3-1, but at least the team came out relatively unscathed

The two goals conceded in the 85th and 90th minute of the match were the first two goals conceded in the defeat, so that’s something to be proud of. How did the game develop in the first leg of the 3rd round against Maribor?

As in the two games against Ajax, the score was 0-0 after the first 45 minutes. A Maribor penalty finally found its way into the box, but the underdogs equalized

Bitter: It was the seventh minute of stoppage time when the second goal was scored! In two out of three games, the opponents were able to score very late, plus two goals conceded in the 85th and 86th minutes.

So there are bets to be made here! For example, that there will be no goals before the break on Thursday. Betano offers odds of 2.82 for this. You also have the opportunity to benefit from the Betano betting bonus here:

Or how about the bet that the 2nd half will be the higher scoring half? Here, the odds move to an average value of 2.00. Vojvodina will definitely have to play off the fact that they have their own fans behind them on Thursday.

How do the bookmakers deal with the Serbs’ chances? They are offering odds of 2.30 to 2.90 for a win, which is quite balanced. In terms of advancing, things look a little different

2.90 to 1.35, Vojvodina has fallen behind here. But Maribor must of course also be careful, such a 2:1 in the last second is certainly not a letter of recommendation, the thing could have turned out quite differently!

The team was already shaky a few times in the 2nd qualifying round. They had won 2:0 against CS U Craiova in the first leg, a result that saved them from a 2:3 defeat in the second game

Important for you: It was 0-0 at half-time in both games, we were able to find that out with Vojvodina after all. That was also the case in the 2:1 against Vojvodina, and a goal was scored very late on.

Maribor had already attracted attention with close results in the Europa League qualifiers. 1:2 and 1:1 against Botev Plovdiv, more and more parallels to the current opponent from Serbia are becoming apparent.

Maribor do not have any big names in their squad, in fact their total market value is around eight million euros lower than that of Vojvodina. Incidentally, it should also be noted that a year ago they were defeated 3:1 and 3:0 by Fenerbahce in the 3rd qualifying round

Vojvodina will have their work cut out to turn around the narrow deficit against Maribor. The Serbs will know that they owe their mixed results mainly to goals conceded in the second half.

On the other hand, the visitors from Slovenia are not exactly in their most confident form. It was not for nothing that the goal in the first leg was scored in the last second.

All in all, I can’t imagine that one team will clearly pull away from the other. As this also applies to the defenses, my tip is:

Both teams will score!
