It’s a return to their hometown after more than 18 years: Rapid Vienna have brought striker Andreas Weimann from Derby County from the English Championship to Hütteldorf. The 34-year-old England legionnaire receives a contract until the end of the season including an option to extend and will indeed become a professional in Austria for the first time after a long journey. Weimann can look back on 393 appearances in the Championship (75 goals), less often he played in the Premier League at the beginning of his professional career (113/17).
