Bundesliga 8th matchday, Saturday, 26/10/2024 at 6:30 pm
It’s been a turbulent few days for the German champions! The Werkself are still not really finding their way into their familiar consistency, which is particularly evident in our 1st Bundesliga tips. So whether my Werder Bremen Leverkusen tip comes down to a spectacle?
In my opinion, the chances are pretty good! In this game, I’m betting not only that we’ll see goals on both sides, but that there will be at least three in total – just as it always is with Leverkusen.
In the national competition, it’s always a wild back and forth, and now it’s also the case that Bayer was still away in the Champions League on Wednesday. Two away games is a tough challenge even for the champions.
The Werder Bremen Leverkusen odds were set by experts who also had the history in mind. With an average of 1.50 to 5.50, there is not really much to suggest that there will be any celebrating on the Weser – just as there has been no home win against Bayer04 for eight years.
And so it happens that I have to consider a number of factors in my Werder Bremen Leverkusen analysis. Factors that should ultimately show you only one thing: it can get really messy here!
The betting providers’ prediction?
Our bookmakers still have a lot of faith in Bayer Leverkusen. After three consecutive wins against Bremen, they are expecting a fourth, so you will have to settle for odds of just 1.50 for the win bet.
On the other hand, Werder have only impressed away from home so far this season. That’s reason enough for the bookies to take out the underdog role and say: a win against Leverkusen? That’s 5.50!
The home side would probably be happier with a draw. Since both teams have shared points twice in 2024/25, you shouldn’t completely rule out a draw, even though the odds are a little higher than usual at 4.80.
KI-Prognose Werder Bremen vs Leverkusen: Darauf tippt ChatGPT
If you go by the opinion of ChatGPT and Co., there are a number of betting suggestions for this interesting game. And as usual, there is a high, medium and low risk for you here.
A draw would be the bet with the highest risk. Before Leverkusen’s three consecutive wins, there were actually three consecutive draws, and three of the Werkself’s four wins were very close. Therefore, I would not rule out a draw under any circumstances. But if it turns out to be a 1-1, then it’s doubtful. However, the odds for that are very high, unfortunately, as is the risk.
A medium risk: the Over 3.5 goals bet. I definitely agree here. Leverkusen can’t score nationally without conceding, but they have the second-best offense. That alone shows that there could be a lot going on here.
Will both teams score? Admittedly, the North Germans are yet to score a goal at home. However, Bayer simply offers too much for me not to give this betting suggestion my unconditional approval.
Analysis: Werder Bremen vs Leverkusen
Bored? Not when Bayer Leverkusen are playing! The Werkself broke all the records last season, were superior champions and shone above all with a rock-solid defense.
Now, of course, the new season is only seven rounds old, but I can already see a very decisive difference: Bayer apparently forgot about defending during the summer break!
13 goals against, in four of the seven matches it was at least double in their own goal. White west? There weren’t any. Strange, actually, because in the Champions League, Feyenoord and Milan bit their teeth out at Leverkusen.
And yet, with FC Bayern having already dropped a few points, the defending champions are only three points behind the leaders. With 18 goals of their own, they also have the second-best offense behind Munich.
Odds Analysis
Leverkusen and late goals go hand in hand perfectly this season. For this reason alone, betting on more happening after the break could pay off for you. The odds for this tip are 1.90.
At the same time, this suggestion leads me to expect an away goal – and that in the second half too. If that happens, Betano will give you odds of 2.50.
Of course, an outcome bet is also a great option. Due to SVW’s weakness at home, I see the guests narrowly in the lead, so I would opt for a 2-3 outcome. By using the Bet365 credits, the risk of the odds 17.0 doesn’t weigh as heavily.
Werder Bremen vs. Leverkusen: A wild defensive battle?
It is definitely worth mentioning that they have already been tied 2:2 three times after leading 2:0. While they won against Gladbach in the last second, they drew against Kiel and lost 2:3 against Leipzig.
On top of that, there was a 1-1 draw in the top game against FCB, a 4-3 thriller against Wolfsburg, the most recent 2-1 win against Frankfurt, and a 4-1 win against Hoffenheim, which was the only one that was really convincing.
Incidentally, the defensive weakness could become truly historic. For the first time since 1998/99 (Kaiserslautern at the time), a reigning German champion has failed to keep a clean sheet in the first seven match days.
Will Werder finally find their form away from home?
Only two clubs, Kaiserslautern and Bayern Munich in 1981/82, started as champions with longer series without keeping a clean sheet. Incidentally, after Leverkusen’s first two CL games, they each had Bundesliga games in which they conceded at least two goals.
A few days after the 1-1 draw against Brest, this should not happen again. In any case, the bet that Werder scores more than 1.5 goals would get you odds of 2.85 at Oddset.
5:0 and 3:0? Last season, the duels against SVW were quickly over. Bayer has only lost one of the last 14 games, and the last time it was a defeat on the Weser was in October 2016.
No goal has been scored yet, so it’s a good thing that Leverkusen never plays to keep a clean sheet. Of course, with BVB and FCB, we had two really tough opponents, and SC Freiburg, currently in third place in the table, is anything but an easy opponent.
Of course, from Bremen’s point of view, it is not exactly ideal that the guests from Leverkusen have not lost in 20 away games in the Bundesliga.
On the other hand, the Werder team has already made up seven points, albeit away from home. In terms of personnel, however, they know on the Weser: every man is needed against Leverkusen, but not all are fit.
Particularly bitter: Jens Stage, with three goals the most dangerous man, is injured. In addition, Anthony Jung and Skelly Alvero may be out. For all three, it will probably be decided at very short notice whether they can play or not.
My Werder Bremen Leverkusen betting tip:
A few more acts of hara-kiri before the winter break! If you’re not a fan of defensive football, you’ll really enjoy Bayer Leverkusen’s performances. Goals? Lots of them. Conceded goals? Also in abundance!
This is good from Werder Bremen’s point of view, because SVW wants to score the first goal at home this season, having already scored an impressive twelve goals away from home. So in my view, two teams are facing each other here that stay away from boredom.
This leads me to think offensively. The guests’ defensive weakness goes a little further for me and ensures that we could be right in the end with the following tip:
We see goals from both teams and more than 2.5!
