Werder Bremen would like to extend the contract with Romano Schmid (26), which expires in 2027. The Bundesliga club is already sending corresponding signals, but talks have not yet been held – which is probably also related to the still unclear league affiliation. According to kicker information, Schmid has changed his agent – and at Osterdeich they are receiving signals that make a stay conceivable. In view of the upcoming World Cup, however, it cannot be ruled out that a departure in the summer will become an issue again.
