West Ham United won the UECL just a few years ago, but now you don’t have to be a sports betting guru to know that a return to the international stage for the coming season seems out of the question.
Nevertheless, I am still optimistic about a home win in the Premier League on Thursday. Because according to my West Ham Leicester tip, this remains the most likely outcome of this basement game.
The situation in the relegation battle in the Premier League is really strange this season. There is a huge gap of 13 points between 16th and 18th place, so only four teams are actually fighting for survival – Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester.
The Foxes currently have the worst cards. They have lost each of the last three league games, four if you also count their FA Cup appearance against Manchester United.
The 4-0 defeat to Brentford a few days ago was particularly painful. Personally, as a coach, I would have seriously considered replacing the entire defense after a good half-hour.
Players like full-back Woyo Coulibaly in particular were overrun too often, which is simply not acceptable.
In contrast, the “Hammers” were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after weeks of agony. The 1-0 away win against Arsenal was almost unbelievable.

The coach has already managed 11 Premier League home games against newly promoted teams and has always scored with only one exception (5 wins, 5 draws) – and that was a 0-1 defeat against Sheffield United with Brighton in December 2019.

Leicester will want to set an example after their desolate performance, which is why I don’t think they will put in another lethargic performance like against Brentford. This time, the promoted team will do a bit more – even if it might not be quite enough again!

Their weak away record and the enormous number of goals they have conceded make it very difficult to believe that the promoted team will get more than a point at best.
Nevertheless, I expect the guests to put up a fight at least for spells and not to make it too easy for the “Hammers”.
My prediction: Double chance 1X & Over 2.5 goals.
