Arsenal – PSG: Date, TV broadcast & bookmaker predictions at a glance
All information about the UECL semi-final Arsenal vs PSG
The semi-finalists of this year’s Champions League have been decided, and unfortunately there will be no German teams in the last four. This means that Paris St. Germain’s hopes of finally winning the title for the first time are all the greater.
But caution is advised: in the semi-finals, the Parisians face the team that knocked Real Madrid out of the competition in emphatic fashion. That’s why I think Arsenal has a clear advantage in my “Who will advance” prediction.
Arsenal won’t win the Premier League title, but if they do win the FA Cup, the Gunners will certainly be able to cope with that. Their international season cannot be praised highly enough.
In the group stage, they only lost 1-0 to Inter Milan, with their second draw coming in a 0-0 stalemate against Atalanta Bergamo. The home games? They were extremely successful.
2-0 against PSG (they had already met once before), 1-0 against Donetsk, 3-0 against Monaco and 3-0 against Dinamo Zagreb – there was nothing to complain about, especially from a defensive point of view. Did it continue like this in the knockout stages?
They triumphed 7-1 against Eindhoven in the first leg of the round of 16! So I can forgive the London defense for not giving 100 percent in the second leg and being satisfied with a 2-2 draw.
When Real Madrid was drawn as their opponent in the quarterfinals, quite a few people expected them to be eliminated. But the 3-0 win at the Emirates was a demonstration of power – and once again Arsenal came away without conceding a goal.
A few days later, the team showed nerves of steel at the Bernabeu, securing their next victory with a 2-1 win. Nine wins out of twelve games is a real statement, and I’m sure that if it hadn’t been for the 7-1 defeat at PSV, the second leg would have been won too.
With so many clean sheets, I would definitely recommend betting on “PSG not to score,” as the French attack failed to fire at the Emirates Stadium a few months ago.
At Betano, this bet is available at odds of 2.92. It’s also advisable to sign up as a new customer and use the code “BONUSVIP” to secure your free bet. In any case, the Londoners have not lost any of their five previous games against PSG.
Who will reach the semi-finals? Arsenal or PSG
The visitors will therefore know that caution is advised. They did not come through their quarter-final as confidently as Arsenal, with a 3-1 win in the first leg against Aston Villa followed by a narrow 2-3 defeat in the second leg.
PSG may be cruising toward the Ligue 1 title without a hitch, but it’s a different story in the Champions League. They scraped through to the quarterfinals against Liverpool on penalties, having previously seen off Brest with very convincing 3-0 and 7-0 wins.
Their performances have been anything but consistent. They have suffered three defeats in this season’s European campaign, all of them away from home, which is striking. It is also interesting to note that Paris now has to face an English team for the third time in a row.
They conceded two goals against Liverpool and nine against Aston Villa, so now they can choose which style of play they would prefer against Arsenal. Incidentally, PSG were knocked out in the quarter-finals in both 2021 and 2024.
Once it was Manchester City who were responsible, the other time it was Borussia Dortmund. Interestingly, both times they lost twice. So if there is a defeat in the first leg against the Gunners, the path to elimination could be mapped out.
My conclusion is as follows: Arsenal FC is in really strong form in the Champions League, conceding hardly any goals and enchanting its fans in home games, which almost always end with a clean sheet.
I can’t say the same for the French side. They scraped through to the quarter-finals against Aston Villa, and they have made a number of mistakes throughout their international season. That leads me to the following conclusion:
Arsenal will reach the final!
