All info about the UECL quarter-final Aston Villa vs PSG
PSG knocked Liverpool out of the tournament in the group stage! In the quarter-finals, they will now face the next English team, AVFC! Who will advance to the semi-finals: Aston Villa or PSG?
In my opinion, this is a clear-cut matter for the French team, who are performing extremely consistently, are dangerous in attack and have also increased their stability in defense. I will provide you with further arguments in the next few lines.

In the first few months, Paris had a hard time in the Champions League without their former superstar Kylian Mbappé. However, the capital city team improved towards winter, winning their last three league games and qualifying for the playoffs.
Brest had no chance in the direct encounter. Then it was on to the last 16 against Liverpool, with the Reds inflicting PSG’s only defeat of 2025 so far. They got revenge at Anfield, losing on penalties.
The quarter-finals in the premier class and the next title in Ligue 1 are only a matter of time. With eight games to go, they have a whopping 19-point lead over Marseille and the cup triumph is also still in the bag.
Betano offers us 1.26 odds for the French team to advance, while Aston Villa are listed as underdogs at a high 3.95 odds. The odds for the French record champions are not particularly tempting, but they are interesting, especially in combination with other “who will advance” bets.

While PSG only lost a football game to Bayern before their defeat to Liverpool in November, Aston Villa are lurking in the middle of the Premier League, in the middle of the European cup places.
Their defense prevented a better points tally. 45 goals conceded is the worst tally in the top half of the table. The Villans got off to a better start in the Champions League, even qualifying directly for the last sixteen in eighth place, and left Atalanta conquerors Bruges no chance at all.
The tie was practically decided after the first game, with a 3-1 away win, and the Football Club went on to win 3-0. For me, the fact that the first game is played at the Parc des Princes is a major disadvantage against PSG.
I realize that the better-placed team in the league phase should have an advantage in being allowed to play at home in the all-important second leg, but the first leg is likely to be an unpleasant affair for Unai Emery’s team, who tend to perform poorly away from home.
In the Premier League, the Villa goal was scored twice on average per game, and in the Champions League, the British lost to Monaco and in the league to Bruges. I expect PSG to take a very offensive approach at home.
In their last seven games alone, the team, which strengthened its offense with the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the winter, scored 29 times!
And at the back? In the last twelve appearances, we only saw one in which there was more than one goal conceded. In the Champions League knockout phase, they have only conceded one goal in four games. Impressive: 210 minutes against Liverpool and only one ball in.
Apart from a few good chances for the Reds, it wasn’t undeserved! The AVFC have celebrated a few wins recently, but didn’t have the big names in front of them. Against the top clubs, there were some problems, especially with the ball.
Aston Villa are too vulnerable defensively, especially away from home. I expect that this will be the undoing of the British team, which, compared to PSG, still has little experience in the Champions League. That’s because the first leg is in the Parc des Princes, and the hosts are in really good form.
The French have already dispelled the dominance of the Premier League, only conceding one goal and showing more in offense over both games, and ultimately earned their place in the quarterfinals.
I expect PSG to take a 2-0 or 3-1 lead in the first match, but perhaps also to take a three-goal lead, and then, with their recently compact defense, not to let anything burn in Villa Park and to be very dangerous again when switching!
Ultimately, I predict that PSG will reach the semi-finals of the CL!
