Wiener Sportclub – LASK Tip, Prediction & Odds 07/26/2025

ÖFB Cup 2025/26 1st Round, Saturday, 07/26/2025 at 6:00 p.m.

Football writes its own stories – and I’m not afraid to believe in a minor sensation in the ÖFB Cup on Saturday.

According to my Wiener Sportclub LASK tip, placed as part of a soccer bet, the regional league team will cause a stir. In front of almost 5,000 spectators at the Hohe Warte stadium, the favorites could well take the hosts too lightly…

The Wiener Sport-Club is one of Austria’s most traditional soccer clubs and has a real highlight to look forward to in the 2025/26 season!

In the first round of the ÖFB Cup, they will face Bundesliga club LASK – a challenging match, but a real stroke of luck for the regional league club, especially financially.

The game against the Linz team is sure to attract large crowds to the stadium and bring in a lot of money for the club.

Founded in 1883, the Sport-Club looks back on a long and eventful history. In the 1950s, it was one of the best clubs in the country and also made its mark internationally.

The 1958/59 season remains particularly memorable: the Viennese reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup – the predecessor of today’s Champions League – where they faced none other than Real Madrid.

Although they were knocked out by Alfredo Di Stéfano’s star-studded team, just reaching this stage was a historic milestone for the club.

Today, the club is fighting for points in the Regionalliga Ost – but games like the cup clash against LASK show that the big stage is no stranger to the Sport-Club. And maybe they will even cause a minor sensation.

LASK has established itself as a real cup giant-killer in recent years, regularly making deep runs in the ÖFB Cup. An exit on Sunday against Wiener Sport-Club would therefore not only be a sporting embarrassment, but also historically significant.

The Linz team last failed in the 2002/03 season against Blau-Weiß Linz in the first round – since then, they have always cleared this hurdle.

The first first-round exit in over two decades would be a bitter setback for the ambitious Upper Austrians, especially since the Sport-Club “only” plays in the Regionalliga.

Interestingly, LASK and Wiener Sport-Club already crossed paths in 2002 and 2003, when both teams were active in the same league for two seasons.

The result? In these four direct encounters, Linz came out on top twice, while the Sport-Club emerged victorious once.

Another encounter ended in a draw. This balanced record shows that the traditional club from Vienna was certainly capable of holding its own against the favorites back then.

Even though a lot of time has passed since then, a certain tension remains in the rivalry – especially in the cup, where different rules apply.

The odds for Wiener Sportclub LASK speak for themselves: everything points to a must-win for the Bundesliga side. There is just a mini odds of 1.03 for an away win for LASK – a clear sign of their status as clear favorites.

A draw is priced at 12.00, while a home win for Wiener Sportclub brings a whopping 20.00. So if you believe in a sensation, you could really cash in with a minimal stake.

Realistically, however, LASK should clearly dominate the game – at least if everything goes according to plan. However, I love the thrill and am deliberately betting on a sensational victory for the capital city team within 90 nerve-wracking minutes.

By the way: Especially with risky ÖFB Cup games, a betting provider with fast payouts like Admiral is a real plus.

If the first-round sensation happens and your bet wins, you don’t want to see your winnings sitting in your account for days, do you?

Instead, fast providers give you cash quickly – often within a few hours. This ensures flexibility and trust and makes spontaneous reinvestments or payouts possible right away. This makes betting relaxed and uncomplicated.

Conclusion: I believe in a sensation from the regional league team! Why not? The ÖFB Cup has always provided surprises in the past.

Just think of last season, when Bundesliga club Altach was eliminated in the first round by SR Donaufeld Wien – also a regional league club from the capital.

The Wiener Sport-Club has tradition, passion and, with home advantage behind it, the energy it needs to challenge LASK. Sure, the favorite comes from Linz – but the cup writes its own stories.

Sport-Club definitely has a chance and will do everything it can to upset the big guns.

My prediction: Wiener Sportclub win
