Bundesliga 28th matchday, Friday, 11/04/2025 at 8:30 pm
After an unsuccessful debut in the DFB Cup semi-final, RBL coach Zsolt Löw seems to have at least found a promising Bundesliga start.
Against Hoffenheim, his team recovered from an early goal against, then hardly allowed anything and played structured forward – a successful start for the new man on the sidelines.
But today’s opponent is of a different caliber – at least on paper. The Wolves nominally have significantly more potential in their squad than TSG, but currently seem like a shadow of their former selves.
For weeks, they have lacked penetration in attack, their defensive stability is brittle, and the pressure grows with each match day.
My Wolfsburg RB Leipzig tip highlights the best available offers for a successful football bet and also addresses the question of where increased odds await you.
Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig are old acquaintances – and it is precisely this direct comparison that could be a good omen for Zsolt Löw. After all, Leipzig have played against no other professional club more often than against VfL: there have been 24 duels between the two teams so far.
And the record from Leipzig’s point of view is quite respectable. Twelve wins, five draws and seven defeats – RB have celebrated more successes at the professional level against no other team.
Especially at a phase in which RBL wants to get back on track, such a statistic is more than just a side note.
For Löw, this means that if his team can build on the historic record, the next three points are absolutely within reach.
The betting providers’ forecast?
The Wolfsburg RB Leipzig odds suggest that there will be no clear favorite on Friday: with 2.80 for a home win, 3.65 for a draw and 2.45 for an RBL win, the bookmakers expect a very close match.
It therefore smells like a game at eye level, in which little things could decide – an early goal, a flash of inspiration or a mistake in the back line-up. Excitement guaranteed!
Wolfsburg – RB Leipzig AI prediction
The Wolfsburg RB Leipzig AI prediction from ChatGPT yielded three exciting betting options, which I then subjected to a rigorous credibility test.
For the high risk, “Leipzig wins with HC -1” is up for debate. I don’t think much of it – the Wolves are usually a tough nut to crack at home. A clear away win with a handicap seems a bit far-fetched to me.
At medium risk, the AI suggests “1st goal Leipzig”. It doesn’t sound bad, but for me it’s more of a 50-50 proposition – without clear value, it’s more a matter of taste.
The low-risk option seems safer: “Both score”. A 1-1 or more is almost inevitable in my opinion – a tip that I would sign without much hesitation and that I have adopted for a reason.
Analysis: Wolfsburg vs RB Leipzig
Wolfsburg are currently going through a difficult phase. The Lower Saxony-based club have not won in their last four Bundesliga games, losing the last three 1-0. This has seen them drop from seventh to 13th place – and that’s against mostly weaker teams.
Their home form also offers little hope: they have not won at home in five games (4 draws, 1 defeat). The only positive thing is that they have managed two draws at home against three top-four teams this season.
RB Leipzig, on the other hand, have recently responded to a long downward trend by replacing coach Marco Rose with interim solution Zsolt Löw.
Although his first game in the cup was lost, Leipzig recently managed to turn a 3-1 defeat against Hoffenheim into a 3-1 victory – an important step in the league that saw them move up to fifth place.
However, Leipzig have now been without a win away from home for seven Bundesliga games (4 draws, 3 defeats). Since mid-January, the Saxons have not scored a single goal away from home either – despite a spectacular 3-3 draw in Bochum after leading 3-0 at half-time.
Odds analysis
The Slovenian is currently in strong form, has already collected 16 scorer points and was also the match winner in the cup against Wolfsburg. The odds here are definitely playable – especially if you like to take a bit of a risk with scorer bets.
Over 2.5 goals at 1.74 – also completely logical for me. Four of the last five direct duels have seen over three goals scored. A 3-1 or 2-2 is absolutely within the realm of probability. The offensive quality of both teams clearly speaks in favor of this tip.
Wolfsburg vs. RB Leipzig: The first goal means nothing!
An early 1-0 lead? That doesn’t mean anything at all in this game – because experience from the 2024/25 season so far has shown that it can always go either way. RB Leipzig are a prime example of how quickly the tables can turn this season, both when they take the lead and when they trail.
The Saxons have already given away a whopping 14 points after taking the lead – only Wolfsburg (15) and Stuttgart (18) are even more “successful” in this category.
At the same time, RBL is also known for spectacular comebacks: the team has scored eleven points after falling behind, and as many as all three against Hoffenheim. In this discipline, only Bayern and Leverkusen are slightly ahead with twelve points each.
All this suggests that this game could be very volatile. For me, an interim 1-1 is almost inevitable – because Leipzig is not a team that consistently plays down a lead, but is often part of a wild rollercoaster ride.
VfL against RBL? Both can win!
No way to beat the Wolves at home? On the contrary – because the reality is quite different. Wolfsburg has only won two of eleven Bundesliga games since the winter break (5 draws, 4 defeats) and has not won at home in ages.
As mentioned in the analysis section, the Lower Saxony team has not won at home for five games (4 draws, 1 loss) – only Hoffenheim have been without a home win for longer in the league (eight games).
Offensively, the Wolves are not doing well: only Heidenheim have scored fewer goals (9) than the green-whites (11) in 2024.
The new coach Zsolt Löw made a good impression on his debut and continued a winning streak! He is the third RBL coach in a row to celebrate his Bundesliga debut with a win – Domenico Tedesco and Marco Rose have done the same before him.
And yet it won’t be a sure thing for Leipzig. The only Leipzig coach to win his first two games? Julian Nagelsmann, who even won three in a row at the start of the 2019/20 season. So that’s not really a good omen for the Hungarian!
My Wolfsburg RB Leipzig Tip:
This will be a wild game in which the knot can burst on both sides. Offensively, I expect 3 to 6 goals in this encounter, there is almost no way around it for me on Friday.
The bottom line, however, is that I see the Wolves in a slightly better position to take three important points here!
My tip: Double chance 1X & Both teams to score
