WM Normalschanze Forecast: The favorites with betting odds

There are almost no more normal hill jumps in the World Cup. The last World Cup event on this hill size took place last season – here in Trondheim as a World Cup rehearsal. The winner was the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi.

Kobayashi also won the last two World Cup events before the World Cup – both individual events in Sapporo. Is Kobayashi a favorite for the World Cup normal hill ski jumping on Sunday?

If the season so far is anything to go by, then he definitely has a chance of winning a medal. However, others have dominated this winter – especially the Austrians, who are ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the overall World Cup.

The leader in the overall World Cup is Daniel Tschofenig, who also won the tournament this winter. He also has eight victories this season. Jan Hörl (two victories this season), who also took second place in the tournament, is second in the overall World Cup. Stefan Kraft, third in the tournament and two-time winner this season, is ranked third overall.

In addition to the trio of Austrians and the stronger Kobayashi, there are a few other favorites for the World Championships in normal hill ski jumping.

The Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang is ranked fourth in the overall World Cup and is therefore the best non-Austrian. Forfang has been on the podium six times in the last eight jumps before the World Championships (1x first, 4x second and 1x third).

Based on their most recent results, the two Slovenians Anze Lanisek and Domen Prevc can also be seen as contenders for a medal. Although the Swiss Gregor Deschwanden is ranked 6th in the overall World Cup, he has not been on the podium since December.

What are the chances of the German eagles winning a medal?

Pius Paschke is still ranked 5th in the overall World Cup, but the strong form from the beginning of the season, when he won five of the first eight jumps, is long gone. Andreas Wellinger is also increasingly falling short. In view of their last results, the DSV duo can only surprise.
