After 1. FC Magdeburg parted ways with Markus Fiedler on Sunday, the search for a new head coach has begun. According to kicker, Torsten Ziegner is among the candidates for the Ottostädter, as he was in the summer. Initial contact has already been made with sporting director Otmar Schork. The 47-year-old former professional most recently coached MSV Duisburg (until September 2023) and has been without a club since then. Prior to that, he worked for Würzburger Kickers, Halleschen FC, and spent six successful years at FSV Zwickau.
