On New Year’s Day, FC Zurich confirmed via press release that Steven Zuber’s contract had been terminated at the end of 2025. Originally, the 34-year-old’s contract would have run until June 2027. The departure of the 56-time international was at his own request. He joined from AEK Athens in December 2024, and in his career he also played for TSG Hoffenheim, VfB Stuttgart, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
