NFL 2024/25: 49ers – Patriots
My 49ers Patriots betting tip concerns the most one-sided game of this Week 4, because even in the user-friendly Betano app there is no other match in which the German betting providers have such a strong opinion as in this one.
Everyone is expecting a resounding victory for the Californians, who should start with a lot of anger in their stomachs after the previous week. What I am personally more convinced of, however, is that the “Pats” will hardly put any points on the board.
The 49ers, or as some affectionately call them the “Niners”, showed last week against the Rams that they will not give up without a fight despite injuries. They held a commanding 24-14 lead in the fourth quarter, but then things went south.
They conceded 13 points in the final six minutes and lost 24:27 in the end. The defeat was also so unexpected because the bookmakers at one point had San Francisco winning the game by 95%.
The question remains: Did they lose concentration in the shock defeat or did they simply run out of breath? The latter is easier to fix, so there’s still hope for Shanahan and Co.
This weekend, the 49ers face a relatively easy task. Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey (CMAC) are still banged up, though, and now Brock Purdy may be joining them.
But even with a decimated squad, the boys from San Francisco have proven that they can always be dangerous – and nobody thinks their opponents have much chance of success anyway.
The Patriots had a rude awakening after a solid start to the season against the Jets. After they were able to keep their first two games open, the last game was a disaster. They were literally overrun and went down 24-3.
The question now is: Has the spirit of optimism in New England already fizzled out? Personally, I think so.
The O-line simply can’t protect its own quarterback – even if their lives depended on it.
And let’s face it, neither Jacoby Brissett nor Drake Maye are playmakers that other franchises would be fighting over.
With each passing game, the shortcomings of a franchise that was written off by almost every pundit in the offseason are simply becoming more and more apparent.
The 49ers still have a few good running backs up their sleeve and are also eager to make up for the unexpected loss to the Rams as quickly as possible.
New England should be able to avoid an absolute blowout, but they won’t be able to handle the energetic running game of the Californians sooner or later.
Even again, I’d be surprised if the Pats score more than a maximum of one touchdown. The matchup with the San Francisco defense doesn’t bode well!
When we look at the various 49ers Patriots odds and offers, there are some interesting options for you.
Watch out: New England has the second weakest offense in the league, and their passing game is simply the worst.
If you want to bet on the Pats scoring less than 13.5 points, that would be a sensible decision. The odds for this are 1.93 and make this bet profitable in any case if successful.
The 49ers also have a clear historical advantage. They lead the direct comparison 9:5 and have a strong 4:2 record at home against New England.
With this history behind them and a strategically cautious head coach who wants to get the maximum out of his team despite injuries, a win for the Niners with a handicap of -10.5 could also be a great betting opportunity. The odds here are 1.88.
So what do you make of this? Are you betting on a defensive game and tipping New England to score few points? Or are you more convinced of the 49ers’ strong home form and take the handicap? Both 49ers Patriots predictions wouldn’t get in each other’s way!
Conclusion: San Francisco will be dominant and won’t give New England much room to breathe. The Patriots simply have no offense and are banged up, which will be problematic against the Niners.
With a depleted roster, but plenty of anger in their belly after the bitter Rams loss, the Californians should control the Pats and give them little chance to score points. Therefore, a 49ers Patriots bet on “Pats under 13.5 points” seems to make perfect sense.
My bet: Patriots under 13.5 points
