It’s that time again in Spain: Real Madrid host FC Barcelona! The Clasico is coming up, and the Whites are in great danger of their arch-rivals pulling away. So how do I feel about this Real Madrid v Barcelona tip?
Both played against German teams in the Champions League just a few days ago, leaving them drained. I see a good chance of a spectacle in the direct duel, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that goals will fall endlessly.

Of course, I can’t get around mentioning Robert Lewandowski. The Pole has scored twelve goals in ten games, four times he scored at least twice and five times in the last two games alone.

Two wins from the last ten encounters, seven defeats? Barca can’t leave it at that! There have been at least three goals in each of the last eight Clasicos, and the last three in Madrid even had four or five.
Real Madrid, of course, know what a strong record they have against their arch-rivals. Perhaps the fact that the Whites had an extra day to recover after the Champions League will also play a role?
They beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 thanks to a brilliant finish – even though they were 2-0 down after the first 45 minutes! It was a brutal display of energy, but one that also revealed weaknesses in defense.
Barcelona, on the other hand, hosted FC Bayern. In a highly interesting game, both top offenses neutralized each other at first, but in the end, the Spaniards made cold-blooded use of their opponent’s defensive weaknesses and won 4:1.
The Madrilenians have scored 21 goals, which means that their offense is already much more restrained than that of FCB. And that despite the fact that they signed Kylian Mbappe especially for that reason.
3:0 against Real Valladolid, 2:0 against Betis Sevilla, 4:1 against Espanyol Barcelona, 2:0 against Alaves and 2:0 against Villarreal? When playing at home, Real never shows any weakness.
The game against BVB may have ended with lots of goals and three points, but there were also two casualties to cope with in terms of personnel. Rodrygo has sustained a thigh injury, while keeper Thibaut Courtois has an adductor problem!
