NFL 2024/25: Seahawks – Bills

Can we look forward to a high-scoring NFL match? I’m assuming so when the Seahawks meet the Bills, in which the visitors from Buffalo are slightly favored at a -3.0 point handicap.
Both teams are coming off of emphatic wins last week, the Bills at home against the stumbling Titans and the Seahawks showing the Falcons the ropes. Strong offenses on both sides, but the defenses have not convinced me lately.
That’s why I don’t dare to place a win bet here, but instead put together the bets for 1.5 touchdowns in half one and two in the Bet365 betting configurator.
Making the right predictions for the Bills’ games has worked out well for me in recent weeks. I had the right odds for the matches against the Jaguars, Texans and Titans, but I was surprised by the Ravens’ very heavy defeat in the end.
I’m now aiming for the fourth goal in the fifth tip for the game against the Seahwaks, who started the regular season well with four wins and three losses, but have recently lost three of their last four games.
A 29:42 against the Lions, 20:29 against the Giants and a 24:36 against the 49ers. The defense didn’t look good in the 34-14 win against the Falcons, and ultimately the hosts didn’t convert enough points from their yards.
The last four opponents have covered 385 or more yards, the average from the matches is over 400. The passing defence is slightly better in league comparison, with 146 yards allowed per game in the running game, the fourth-worst figure in the NFL.
Not a good starting position ahead of the game against the Bills, who have a very versatile offence. Josh Allen has twelve passing touchdowns and no interceptions, and is generally more relaxed after the snap.
He still throws a few long balls per game, but this year he is also incorporating short and medium-length balls more often. In addition to the running backs, he also likes to cover a few yards himself when the opportunity arises.
A good complex performance in the offense meets a team that has problems in several areas of the defense.
However, the Bills have not shown their best defensive play in recent weeks, the 34:10 against the Titans is still difficult to assess, after all, the second weakest offense in the NFL was visiting and then without the set quarterback.
It looked shakier against the Jets, Texans and Ravens. In Seattle I expect the next tough match, like the Seahwaks Buffalo let the opponents gain more than 400 yards on average.
For the victory of the Bills there is a 1.62 waiting at Betano, the Seahawks are at a 2.35, no clear conviction at the bookmakers. Overall, I agree with the division, but ultimately I’m not committed to a winner.
A field goal at the end could make the difference, or one of the many expected touchdowns. Both teams are in the top 8 in the NFL for most points scored. The Bills score 28.4 and the Seahwaks 25.7 per match.
The last few games were definitely not low-scoring. With two strong offenses and vulnerable defenses, an over-touchdown bet is a natural choice. To get nice odds, however, you have to reach high.
For over 4.5 touchdowns there is just a 1.41, a 2.15 with at least six, I have instead built a modified “over 3.5 touchdowns” odds in the Bet365 betting configurator. Incidentally, you also get regular odds boosts there.
“Over 1.5 touchdowns in each half” results in a strong 1.57. I had already successfully targeted two touchdowns per half against the Titans and in the last four Seahawks games it would also have been the right choice.
What also speaks in favor of this bet is that the Bills and Seahwaks do not need much time for their scoring drives, they are among the top scorers in the NFL, but are in the lower third of the NFL in the category of average time of possession.
Less time needed to get into the opponent’s end zone increases the chances of scoring many touchdowns!
Conclusion and Prediction: Geno Smith has the most passing yards of all quarterbacks so far and Allen is at the top of the QB ratings. The teams have been scoring eagerly in recent weeks and don’t need much time to put points on the scoreboard.
At the same time, the defenses are struggling mightily against better offenses, as the last few games have shown.
We’re talking about yards allowed of over 400 in some cases, so for me the match is a clear high-scoring game! What’s more, the last encounters, although they were a few years ago, were really tough!
My Bills Seahawks tip: Over 1.5 touchdowns each half!
