PSG – Lyon betting tip, prediction & odds 12/15/2024

Ligue 1, Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 8:45 pm

The gap to the chasing pack is still relatively reassuring, but PSG shouldn’t afford many more slip-ups! The best team in the country draws every now and then, and on Sunday they face one of their pursuers.

This pursuer has not been beaten in several weeks, so it should never be underestimated. In my PSG Lyon betting tip, I will tell you why I am thinking offensively and saying: Both teams will score over 2.5 goals!

Two draws in a row – for most teams, that’s really not a big deal. But when it comes to Paris St. Germain, as we know, the clocks tick a little differently.

After drawing 1-1 with Nantes, they played 0-0 against Auxerre – neither of these teams are likely to give PSG a hard time. The league leaders now have four draws from five games, a five-point lead over Monaco and Marseille.

What was wrong with the offense, why did they only score one goal in two games? Since the one goal against Nantes fell after less than 120 seconds, the star team has been virtually goalless for almost two matches.

The Parisians have scored at least three goals nine times, and it doesn’t seem as if Kylian Mbappe’s departure has had any impact. At least the team managed to withstand the pressure in the Champions League.

After just one point and two goals against Girona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg lost 3-0. A must-win game for the Austrians, who are currently in the throes of a major crisis.

Eight shots on target – PSG were superior, of course, but it wasn’t an impressive performance. So how will the stars perform on Sunday, and how keen are they to play?

There are no injured key players, so Paris could actually go for a show of force. Will their opponents Olympique Lyon allow that, or is this a kind of bogey team?

In Ligue 1, PSG doesn’t really have that. But there are some small blemishes in an otherwise strong record against Lyon. Two wins and two draws, the last four home games have been mixed.

In eight of the last nine meetings, it is also worth noting that PSG have not managed to keep a clean sheet. The reigning champions last managed to win a home game against Lyon 0-0 in October 2018.

Our betting providers without tax but still can’t avoid putting the hosts in the role of clear favorites in the game. The odds show you an average of 1.43 to 6.00, which is quite typical for a PSG home game.

The guests from Lyon know: We are in good shape, so why should we be afraid! The team has not been defeated in nine games, winning six of them.

For the second time this season, Lyon would now like to manage to win three games in a row. After the 4-1 win against Nice, they won 3-0 against Angers, who have scored a total of 20 goals in eight wins this season.

To hold their own in Paris, it would of course help if I could see Olympique as a strong team away from home. With three wins, three draws and one draw, I can only partially subscribe to that.

Strong is definitely: Since the 0-3 in Rennes on the first matchday, only three more goals were conceded. Three times already it has worked to keep a clean sheet for themselves away from home.

Since matchday five, Lyon have only conceded twice, so defensive strength will of course also be needed against PSG. Incidentally, Olympique have so far managed without a lone striker.

Alexandre Lacazette may be the top scorer with five goals, but there have already been four stars who have scored at least three times. The 26 goals this season have been scored by twelve players.

Two draws in a row is a tough problem to face! Paris St. Germain are not happy when they don’t win. Lyon are coming to town on Sunday, and they’re not an easy opponent.

The guests confirm their good form from week to week, and have not been defeated for quite some time. The last two games alone had seven goals to offer, so I can’t fault them offensively.

Of course, Lyon don’t really like playing against PSG, but they annoy the champions every now and then and, above all, have always scored in the Parc des Princes in recent years. That’s why I decided on the following tip:

Both teams score, we’ll see more than 2.5 goals!
