NFL 2024/25: Steelers – Chiefs

This is a doubleheader as we probably only know it from English weeks! Both teams were only in action last Saturday and this aspect in particular should not play a subordinate role in this clash.
For the defending champions, a defeat on Wednesday would be too much to bear!
Using the Betano promo code, I’m therefore using a Steelers Chiefs tip that sees the home side ahead.
In their home stadium and with the aim of not slipping further down the playoff rankings, Pittsburgh should show much more commitment!
Pittsburgh fans had a tough time on Saturday, as you will have noticed. They lost 19-27 to the hated Ravens, and almost everything that could go wrong did.
Russell Wilson didn’t have it easy – the pick-six was a bitter moment, but by no means the only slip-up.
A fumble problem ran through the entire game: The Steelers had three chances to secure the ball, including a strip sack by Alex Highsmith and two opportunities on punt returns by Desmond King.
But it just wouldn’t work. And when the otherwise solid running game falters, it’s hard to take control. Baltimore exploited the weaknesses ice-cold and the Steelers had to work from the back to the front – to no avail.
The lead in the AFC North is gone for now. Now it’s time to lick the wounds and tick the game off quickly.
Things look very different in Kansas City. Boy oh boy, Patrick Mahomes is simply a phenomenon. I’m sure you remember the uncertainty before the game about whether to even use him with the ankle injury, right?
Well, he proved it to everyone: Mahomes eats nails for breakfast. On the very first drive, he made it clear that he doesn’t do things by halves – a 12-yard scramble on third down and 13, followed by a crisp 15-yard run into the end zone.
That was his longest career rushing TD in regulation, and the guy made a real statement with that drive. The offense? Full speed ahead. Rookie Xavier Worthy really settled in and was a key player again with 65 yards and a touchdown.
And then there was Marquise Brown, who converted two crucial third downs on his debut.
With performances like that and Mahomes carrying the team even when banged up, Kansas City once again made it clear why they are one of the heavy favorites for the playoffs.

The Chiefs’ defense also delivered – and how. After the “turnover party” with six turnovers in the previous week, this time they got two interceptions against Houston. Sure, two picks don’t immediately jump out at you, but they were both at exactly the right moment.
Jaden Hicks struck on the first drive, and Trent McDuffie followed up before halftime. In total, the turnovers led to 10 points, which was worth its weight in gold in a game decided by just 8 points.
The pressure on the opposing quarterback was immense: Chris Jones and George Karlaftis combined for 11 pressures, and Joshua Williams ended Houston’s last comeback hopes with a clever corner blitz.
The defense has returned to form just in time to be ready for the playoffs. And with just one more win – or a Bills loss – the Chiefs will secure the top spot in the AFC for good.
But if you’re expecting a Steelers Chiefs tip from me that sees the visitors with the advantage, you’re wrong.
KC may have finally reached the point where they can actually rest Mahomes for the NFL playoffs – even if his ankle is fine.
Because the number 1 spot in the AFC is as good as secured after the win over the Texans – here I advise you to find out about any personnel announcements before the start of the game.
For the Steelers, on the other hand, there is much more at stake and they have won each of their last four NFL games at home anyway!
Therefore, I advise you to go to a betting site with PayPal with the intention of placing a bet of the type “Steelers win with HC +2.5” at odds of around 2.02.
Conclusion: I just can’t imagine that head coach Andy Reid wants to use all of his regular personnel in Pittsburgh.
So a few days after the game against the Texans, it makes perfect sense to take it easy for the playoffs, because they are as good as guaranteed first place in the AFC!
The Steelers, on the other hand, are still one of the surprises of this season and only lost a game against the Ravens that they could have won due to a lot of bad luck and unfortunate turnovers.
My Steelers Chiefs tip: Win Pittsburgh with handicap +2.5
