Ipswich – Chelsea betting tip, prediction & odds 12/30/2024

Premier League, Monday, 30/12/2024 at 8:45 p.m.

You were on the verge of really getting on top of Liverpool FC in our Premier League master bets, when nervousness arose too quickly! Chelsea FC had to let themselves be overtaken, and now, before the turn of the year, they have to get back into form.

On Monday, the Blues will be guests at a team that is still completely winless at home. No wonder they are the clear favorites here. In my Ipswich Chelsea tip, I’ll tell you why I’m betting on an away win with a maximum of four goals.

Is the team not yet ready for a place at the top? Chelsea didn’t exactly spend Christmas relaxing under the tree, because they couldn’t give their fans any presents.

After five wins in a row, scoring a whopping 16 goals, the party was over. First, they only drew 0-0 against the relegation candidates from Everton – for the first time since the first matchday they didn’t score a goal – then they lost 2-1 to Fulham.

So far, there had only been two defeats, the first of which was against Manchester City (0:2) right at the start of the season, and the second against the league leaders Liverpool (1:2). Now the team has to show that it is ready to react accordingly.

The Blues have never gone more than two games in a row without a win this season, which of course gives hope that they will get back to winning on Monday. Nevertheless, I can’t quite understand what has been going on with the offense lately.
It had been in such strong form for weeks that it’s hard to explain why it has only scored once in the last two matches. Incidentally, Fulham lost with the final whistle, despite leading 1-0.

Of course, it is also worth mentioning that the Londoners have collected four white vests so far. Perhaps it will help that it is now an away game, because away from their own stadium, things are actually going better.

The only defeat was the 2-1 at Anfield, and Chelsea have already taken six points from their six trips. The 0-0 draw against Everton was the first away game ever in which they did not score.

Three goals, four, five or even six? It’s all happened away from home! So you could bet that the Blues will score more than 2.5 goals in Ipswich. At Betano, the odds on this are 2.07.

You should keep an eye on this bookmaker if only because the Betano promotional code is waiting for you here. This will be the first Premier League game between Chelsea and Ipswich since 2002.

When the two faced each other in Ipswich in April this year, players like John Terry and Frank Lampard were on the field for the Blues. It was a long time ago, so history certainly played no role for our bookmakers when setting the odds.

The favorites come from the capital, Chelsea start the game with an average of 1.40 to 7.15. The role of favorites is of course also based on the fact that Ipswich are not in the best of form.

The returnees started this season with the goal of somehow keeping their place in the league – that should be difficult. The Tractor Boys are second to last, but at least the gap to the safe side is not quite as large.

Two wins – that’s far too few, of course. After the 2-1 feeling of elation against Wolverhampton, they first lost 4-0 to Newcastle, then went on to lose a close 1-0 to Arsenal.

Ipswich can certainly get beaten by top teams, but five of their last six defeats were only one goal behind. But at the end of the day, it’s only points that count, and the team definitely doesn’t have enough of them.

Especially since they just can’t manage a win at home. They are the only club in the Premier League still waiting for a home win, but at least four out of nine matches have ended in a draw.

With six goals, it is clear that one of the big problems is in attack at home. They have only managed to score twice once, in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. They have taken the lead three times, but have never held it.

Chelsea have had a little breather, now they have to start winning again! The Blues can’t afford any more slip-ups, so it’s a good thing that they perform better away than at home.

The upcoming opponent from Ipswich has never won at home, and only six goals have been scored so far. Six goals? Chelsea could theoretically score that many in just one game on the road!

Recently, the usually very strong attack has slowed down a bit, and in Everton it didn’t score at all. So I decided to turn that into a bet and place this wager:

Chelsea win a game with a maximum of four goals!
