Venezia – AS Roma betting tip, prediction & odds 09/02/2025

Serie A, Sunday, 09/02/2025 at 12:30 pm

While the betting providers with a German license have the Super Bowl in their sights just as much as all the other competitions that interest you, the “Giallorossi”, on the other hand, can concentrate more on the Serie A again after their elimination from the Coppa Italia.

However, I already have a very specific “value bet” in mind for Sunday. In my Venezia AS Roma tip, I am hoping that the promoted team will score the first goal of the game again, as was the case in the first leg.

The situation for Venezia is threatening. With a five-point gap to the safe shore and a winless streak of six league games (3 draws, 3 defeats), relegation is looming ever closer.

Even worse: there has only been one victory in the last 13 games, which underlines the precarious situation.

There is still a small glimmer of hope: in the last Serie A clash between the two in their own stadium, the team from the lagoon city managed to beat the “Giallorossi” 3-2. But two home wins in a row against Roma?

That would be a historic first in Serie A. Nevertheless, Venezia have recently proved that they can put up stiff resistance at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo.

They have lost only one of their last five home games, although their shaky defense is a cause for concern – with only a single clean sheet this season, a shut-out against the Romans is a mammoth statistical task for the “Arancioneroverdi”.

For Roma, on the other hand, this game comes at the perfect time. After the bitter cup defeat against Milan, the capital city team can now focus fully on the league.

The “Giallorossi” have not been beaten in seven games (4 wins, 3 draws) and are aiming for another three points before they continue in the Europa League playoffs against Porto.

The form curve, however, has been pointing upwards since Ranieri’s arrival, and the Romans have often shown no mercy to relegation candidates this season.

However, Roma’s away form remains a real problem. The narrow 2-1 win against Udinese was their first league win away from home after a run of 13 games without a win (7 draws, 6 defeats).

Nevertheless, the offensive under Ranieri has been given a breath of fresh air: since his arrival, only Inter have scored more than the “Giallorossi” in the league. If they can maintain this form away from home, they should be able to beat Venezia as well.

But does that mean I expect a straightforward start-to-finish victory for the capital city team? Not at all!

Given the ability of the newly promoted team to cause problems for even top teams like Inter at home, the AS Roma odds of around 1.73 are simply not high enough for me.

A simple draw bet, on the other hand, offers significantly more value – albeit with a slightly higher risk – which would almost quadruple your stake if it were to win.

And if you are a customer of a betting provider with fast payouts, you can use the winnings promptly to bet on the possible Super Bowl winner in good time. Just a thought!

But back to my Venezia AS Roma tip: the betting scenario that appeals to me the most in terms of risk-reward would have led to a nice payout in the first leg.

What is meant is the possibility of “Venezia scoring the first goal”.

For me, this is a 50-50 scenario at best, which also makes this offer an absolute must-bet for me, as the betting providers are offering us a magnificent odds of around 2.80 on average.

Incidentally, the biggest winner since Claudio Ranieri’s return to the Italian capital is undoubtedly Artem Dovbyk.

The attacker scored against Milan in the Coppa Italia during the week, making it his fourth goal in his last five appearances for the capital city club. He remained a threat after the half-time break, repeatedly creating offensive opportunities.

However, I stand by it: it could well happen on Sunday that Venezia gets the better of him in terms of scoring goals!

Conclusion: For the promoted team, it is certainly a precarious situation that they are currently facing in the Serie A.

Nevertheless, this team is far from being relegated without a fight.

After all, they have not lost another Serie A game by more than a maximum of one goal since November.

At the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Sunday, I therefore expect the “Arancioneroverdi” to be combative again, especially in the early stages of the game!

My Venezia AS Roma betting tip: Venice scores the first goal of the game!
