Argentina – Brazil betting tip, prediction & odds 03/26/2025

World Cup qualifier, Wednesday, 03/26/2025 at 01:00 AM

It’s the South American giants’ clash, the eternal question of supremacy: Argentina hosts Brazil! It’s not just about three points, but also about prestige and thrills.

In recent years, the Gauchos have usually been ahead. Since I’m not convinced by the Brazilian performances, often peppered with a lot of luck, I’ll now tell you why I favor the “Double Chance 1X” with under 3.5 goals in my Argentina Brazil tip.

First of all, a look at the table and one thing is certain: neither of them has anything left to play for! A place in the top six is necessary for direct World Cup qualification, and the lead of Argentina and Brazil is large.

It is fitting that I start with the reigning world champions, because they are leading the field. In September 2023, the teams had already started qualifying, with the Argentinians recording five wins from six games (all with clean sheets) and conceding just two goals.

In 2024, things didn’t go quite as well overall. Three wins, two draws and one defeat, the blunders (1-2 to Colombia, 1-1 to Venezuela and 1-2 to Paraguay) all came away.

But when they did win, they always kept a clean sheet. Of course, I’m not blaming Lionel Messi and Co. for anything, because they also won the Copa America and kept a single clean sheet during the entire tournament.

How did the new year 2025 get off? A few days ago, the Gauchos stayed true to their winning, clean-sheet line. They beat Uruguay 1-0.

Thiago Almada scored the only goal of the game in minute 68. Nicolas Gonzalez was shown a red card shortly before the end, so he will not be able to play against Brazil.

They are just one point away from reaching the World Cup finals early. However, the Argentinians have to secure this success without Leo Messi, because the striker is currently absent from the national team due to injury.

Will they be able to put their arch-rivals from Brazil in their place without him? They took a 1-0 lead in the first leg of the qualifier, and have now gone four games without conceding a goal (three 1-0 wins, one 0-0 draw).

I recommend taking a look at Winamax, because: the “Brazil don’t score” bet may be a good idea. The corresponding odds are as low as 2.25. At the same time, an Argentine clean sheet might also be a good idea, with odds of 3.25.

There has not been a “both teams score” for eight games. If you rule that out for Wednesday as well, you can look forward to odds of 1.65. In this period, the 2.5 goals were only scored once – so if you are now for an “under 2.5 hits”, you must logically be satisfied with 1.50.

It has been a long time since Brazil last won on Argentinian soil, in September 2009. Accordingly, the guests have to live with the fact that average odds of 3.30 to 2.20 see them as outsiders.

The Selecao started the new year with a 2-1 win over Colombia – and once again there was the usual drama! Raphinha scored from the spot to make it 1-0, after which Vinicius Junior equalized in the ninth (!) minute of stoppage time.

Not surprising, really, as the five-time world champions have not exactly been playing well in the qualifiers so far. They have won six times, but only just four times.

1:0 in Peru, 2:1 in Chile – that’s it! If we look at the away games together, two successes stand out, and they weren’t necessarily there. They lost in Paraguay, Uruguay and Colombia, and only drew in Venezuela.

They have scored 19 times in 13 games, with a measly five goals coming in six away games. The mood within the Selecao could definitely be better, and fittingly, the two goal scorers even clashed during the match against Colombia.

Argentina or Brazil, who will secure the decisive points on Tuesday night? The Gauchos only need one more point to secure their qualification for the World Cup.

I can’t get behind the Brazilian team at the moment, anyway, given their form in recent years. Just recently, they only managed a nail-biting victory in minutes 90+9, they rarely score goals away from home, and Argentina is now considered a bogey team.

Since the last few years have not exactly been peppered with goals, I have decided to recommend the following accumulator bet to you:

Argentina scores with a maximum of three goals!
