In the summer of 2022, Armel Bella-Kotchap transferred from VfL Bochum to FC Southampton. The German center back had a pretty good first season, making 24 appearances in the Premier League. But then came a sobering loan spell at Eindhoven (four games in the Eredivisie) and last season the 23-year-old only made four appearances for the Saints in the Premier League. That is why a move to France is now on the cards: according to consistent media reports, Bella-Kotchap is set to join Nantes on loan. The Ligue 1 club apparently has an option to buy him for around nine million euros.
