Cologne – Hoffenheim Tip Bundesliga, Matchday 23 on Saturday, 21.02.2026 at 15:30 CET
You know, I’m firmly convinced that if Akpoguma hadn’t let themselves be carried away with an emergency brake early on in the top match against the German record champions about two weeks ago, even this game could still have been won!
But if I think TSG can win over such a superior team, then you can probably imagine what my Cologne Hoffenheim tip is: Away win at great odds of about 2.10 at Interwetten.
But the game of the sixth matchday of the second half of the 2025/26 season holds more exciting betting opportunities. After all, a goal by the “blue and whites” rarely comes alone!
In my opinion, Cologne can therefore call themselves lucky if the goats don’t go down with man and mouse in front of their own crowd on Saturday …
Isn’t the current rush of success in the Kraichgau enough for you to join my Köln Hoffenheim tip? In any case, a look at the direct comparison would most likely lead to the same assumption!
Surprisingly, TSG have lost only two of their last 13 Bundesliga away games at FC Cologne (W7 D4) and are unbeaten in eight league games at the Rhein-Energie Stadium since the 3-2 defeat in April 2015.
What’s more, the Kraichgau team have celebrated as many away wins in the Bundesliga against no other club as they have against the Domstadt team (7).
Cologne – Hoffenheim Prediction & Betting Tips
As already announced, I believe in a TSG performance that is unlikely to take the form of a meagre 1-0 win – the Kraichgau attacking machine is simply far too productive for that!
During the last nine matchdays, Christian Ilzer’s team scored an average of 2.44 Bundesliga goals per appearance, which is why I recommend the selection Hoffenheim on Saturday over 2.5 goals at odds of around 3.40.
Hoffenheim with HC -1 could also be considered if it works as well with Asllani as a single striker as it did recently in the furious 3-0 win over Freiburg. Actually, Cologne are made for a similarly clear victory!
What you need to know about Cologne vs. Hoffenheim betting
- Cologne goal guarantee: The “goats” have scored in each of the seven Bundesliga games in the 2026 calendar year and have only failed to score at home once in the entire season
- Hoffenheim’s attacking power: TSG are one of the most dangerous away teams in the league and have already cracked the 20 away goals mark – the Kraichgau side have only been goalless in two away games this season
- Statistical hurdle for goal festivals: Despite the offensive strength of both teams, only four or more goals were scored in four of the opponents’ eleven home and away games, which makes the “Over 3.0 goals” bet a challenge
- The dangerous duo: With Andrej Kramaric (9 goals) and Fisnik Asllani (7 goals), Hoffenheim have one of the most efficient attacking duos of the season, who have already struck 16 times; Asllani also shone as a can opener in the 3-0 win on the last matchday
Cologne – Hoffenheim: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
Our Cologne Hoffenheim AI prediction has a tip in store that is really not for the faint of heart, but is certainly justified and promises fantastic odds around 6.80.
Hoffenheim to win after coming from behind is one of those special bets that is not really popular. However, I have to agree with our digital bettor that the statistical conditions could hardly be better in this case.
Just look at this contrast: While Hoffenheim was able to get the third most points after falling behind (13), the “Effzeh” of all people has given up the second most points in the Bundesliga after taking the lead at one point (16).
What our Cologne Hoffenheim AI prediction also has in store is a really first-class player bet that I can blindly recommend to you.
Asllani scores at odds of around 2.70 is so promising as a player pick because the Hoffenheim player has just been involved in a goal in two consecutive games for the first time this season.
Within the team, Andrej Kramaric is the more dangerous striker, but Asllani has already gained very good experience against Cologne. Because in August 2024, he scored his first second division goal against the “Geißböcke” – at that time still for Elversberg!
The best odds for Cologne vs. Hoffenheim
The betting markets are apparently being carried away by TSG’s positive wave.
Within the current Cologne Hoffenheim odds, the increasing confidence in the Kraichgau team is clearly reflected – Interwetten no longer sees the guests as outsiders.
A home three-pointer of the promoted team is listed at 3.05. The market therefore expects that the Domstadt team will play at home and shape their game, but will find it difficult to assert their home advantage against the currently stable TSG.
The draw is 3.80. This scenario fits a match in which both teams act cautiously, wait for chances and the game remains tactically balanced – a point win for both sides is quite possible.
An away win for TSG is recorded at 2.10. Interwetten honours the Kraichgau team’s form, attacking accuracy and ability to play confidently away from home. A success for the guests is considered a realistic possibility.
The Cologne Hoffenheim odds thus draw a duel in which 1899 ́ is slightly preferred, but the “Effzeh” has enough quality to at least keep the game exciting.
Cologne vs Hoffenheim Match Analysis:
Actually, you can expect a high-scoring match, in which the Kraichgau team should score another hat-trick. Only Bayern have more goals in the league than the Kraichgauers, who average a whopping 2.14 per game.
In addition, Cologne has the fifth-weakest defence in the league in terms of expected goals conceded (xGA), so the guests should get numerous chances. After all, I’ve seen them break up much more stable backlines!
Although Cologne will do everything they can to destroy the game and make the spaces narrow – they are used to this – it will be much more difficult to get to the ball fairly against Hoffe. TSG should therefore dominate the game, press early and control the game.
Hoffenheim allow the fewest passes per defensive action in the league, which suggests that they will attack aggressively from the front again and leave Cologne hardly any room to breathe. I therefore expect the Kraichgau team to have possession of the ball of just over 65%.
Cologne Form Check
Cologne suffered a 3-1 defeat in Stuttgart last weekend and slipped to 12th place, only four points ahead of the relegation zone.
After a strong start to the season with 14 points from the first nine games, the picture in 2026 is changeable: The Rhinelanders have only won two of their last five games, with three defeats.
Against Stuttgart, Ragnar Ache scored a remarkable equaliser in the 79th minute, but Cologne conceded two goals in the last six minutes and thus increased the number of late goals conceded to eight this season – final score: 1:3.
Meanwhile, Cologne will again have to do without several players in view of TSG’s visit. Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, who was loaned out from Manchester City in January, is still training individually.
Luca Kilian is also out injured, as are Alessio Castro-Montes and Dominique Heintz, so the defence is thinly staffed.
Julian Schmied is at least ready for action again and is expected to form the heart of the defence together with Sebastian Sebulonsen and Cenk Özkacar. Linton Maina, Timo Hübers and Isak Johannesson, on the other hand, are still unavailable.
Hoffenheim form check
Hoffenheim reacted to the defeat against Bayern Munich with an impressive 3-0 home win against Freiburg and thus celebrated their seventh victory on the last new matchdays. What an achievement!
Christian Ilzer’s team is currently in third place in the Bundesliga, six points behind Dortmund and five points ahead of RB Leipzig in fifth place. For a long time now, people in the Kraichgau have been dreaming of the Champions League, just like I did of a successfully implemented sports betting bonus!
With no DFB Cup or international assignments coming up, Hoffenheim can fully concentrate on the Bundesliga as the season enters the decisive phase.
In terms of injuries, meanwhile, things don’t look bad: The appearances of Adam Hlozek and Tim Lemperle are still on the brink, which is why Fisnik Asllani is expected to lead the attack, supported by Andrej Kramaric. That already worked wonderfully last week!
However, Koki Machida is definitely out, while Bernardo is questionable – Hoffenheim still have plenty of options at the back.
