Tennis tips today – 25.08.2026: Qualifying matches in US Open!
The early qualifying rounds of the US Open offer plenty of room for value bets in my eyes. This is because the bookmakers have to evaluate many games, some of which feature lesser-known players.
I have brought in my expert knowledge for you at exactly this point and taken a closer look at six pairings where I think it is possible to make some promising tennis bets.
By the way, you could put my tennis tips to the test yourself at any time today with a free bet that can be activated quickly.
US Open Tips today 25.08.: Ofner – Nishikori (17:00)
It starts with a game with Austrian participation! If Ofner’s service does not reliably deliver the hand points, his error rate usually goes up quickly in longer rallies.
His Japanese challenger, on the other hand, has had to lose a lot of feathers physically, but still shines with outstanding anticipation and precision in the return game.
Ofner already had the upper hand in two sets in the last direct meeting on hard court in Miami in 2024, but Nishikori has shown in his recent appearances that he is still tactically capable of completely robbing service giants of their rhythm.
If Nishikori defuses Ofner’s force on the service, he will entangle the Austrian in weakening baseline duels. It smells strongly of a close match over the full distance, in which Nishikori’s game intelligence is likely to prevail by a narrow margin in the end.
My tip: The Japanese wins 65 percent!

US Open today: Kwon – Lajovic (6:30 p.m.)
Kwon has just the right tools for fast cement properties: He takes the balls extremely early in the climbing phase, goes at high speed and has excellent footwork.
The 2026 season has been very reliable for him so far, he has a lot of match practice in the tank and his win rate is pointing steeply upwards.
The direct comparison also speaks for itself: In the previous two duels on hard court, Kwon always had the upper hand in straight two sets and never really let Lajovic develop.
If Kwon doesn’t cool down completely, he marches confidently into the next round here!
My tip: The Korean remains unbeaten against Lajovic!
US Open prediction today: Kouame – Basavareddy (18:10)
Promising exchange of blows between two highly gifted players on New York’s hard court! The only 17-year-old exceptional French talent Moïse Kouame challenges the number 32 seeded American Nishesh Basavareddy.
Kouame has made a phenomenal development in 2026. At the latest since his exclamation marks at the Masters events and the Grand Slams, it has been clear how much power and dynamism there is in the young Frenchman’s groundstrokes.
Despite his size, he has considerable agility and pushes the pace enormously with his forehand. He proved that he can also keep up excellently on fast hard courts at the beginning of the year at the Challenger in Lille, where he put Basavareddy in his place in two sets.
My tip: The future belongs to Kouame!
US Open betting today 25.08.: Rocha – Mmoh (18:10)
Henrique Rocha has continuously moved up the world rankings with considerable stamina and variable baseline work. Although the Portuguese feels extremely comfortable on clay, he has noticeably increased his penetration on fast surfaces.
However, against physically powerful servers on this surface, he still sometimes lacks the decisive length in the stroke.
Michael Mmoh, on the other hand, brings exactly what can be dangerous for Rocha on home soil: a powerful first serve, an uncompromising forehand and years of routine on faster hard courts.
Mmoh also loves to keep the rallies short in front of his home crowd and to immediately apply pressure from the half-field. If the American finds his rhythm early in the service, he takes the time for the Portuguese to wind up his precise topspin shots.
My tip: If Mmoh goes early, he wins without losing a set!
US Open tips tonight: Gaston – Justo (6:10 p.m.)
Gaston is known on the tour for his unconventional, extremely treacherous style of play: Constant stop balls, poisonous slice and unpredictable changes of pace characterize the left-hander.
Although he also has his strengths primarily on clay, the Frenchman has exactly the variability on fast surfaces to rob rhythm-seeking opponents of their nerves. In recent weeks, he has proven again and again at ATP level that his fine touch also works on hard court.
For Guido Ivan Justo, on the other hand, this parquet is new territory. The Argentine may have achieved a new career high at Challenger level in 2026, but his successes have almost exclusively been on red ashes.
On the fast US hard court, Justo completely lacks match practice against players from the top 100. He needs a lot of time for his far-reaching groundstrokes – time that Gaston will take away from him with quick rhythm breaks.
My tip: Gaston will almost certainly move into the next round!
