Ex-Frankfurt player Joveljic moves within the MLS

Joveljic, Dejan

 – Sporting Kansas City
+ Seattle Sounders

Former Frankfurt player Dejan Joveljic is moving once again within the MLS. After a successful stint with Los Angeles Galaxy (34 goals in 106 games), he moved to Sporting Kansas City in 2025 for four million US dollars – it was the first trade for cash in MLS history. He then scored 26 goals in 55 games. Now he is moving within the league to the Seattle Sounders for six million dollars. His contract runs until the end of the 2030/31 season and continues to include the “Designated Player” clause, which allows MLS clubs to circumvent the salary cap for up to three players and pay a higher salary.
