A few days before the transfer deadline, Rot-Weiss Essen has presented another new signing. Nick Bätzner comes to Hafenstraße from Bundesliga newcomers SC Paderborn, but nothing has been announced about the duration of his contract. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder was on the field for SCP in 30 second division games (2 goals, 1 assist) and also played as a substitute in both relegation matches against VfL Wolfsburg, in which promotion to the Bundesliga was sealed. Now Bätzner is going down two leagues again.
