Spain Italy betting tip & the best odds for the 2nd matchday of Group B
It was clear that sooner or later we would be presented with this soccer classic of the recent past again at the 2024 European Championship. So let’s raise the curtain on the latest Spain Italy betting tip
From the point of view of the fans of both teams, the certainty of a successful start to this challenging match for group victory is pleasing.
After the win on matchday 1, progression should be virtually assured even in the event of a defeat.
But who will come out on top? Based on what I’ve seen so far and what the statistics are trying to suggest, hours before kick-off I’m more inclined to combine European Championship betting with a Spain-Italy prediction that sees the “Furja Roja” ahead after 90 minutes
This will be the 11th meeting between Spain and Italy at a major tournament, be it the UEFA EURO (8) or the FIFA World Cup (3) – a record between two European nations.
In fact, it will be the fifth consecutive European Championship finals in which these two heavyweights of European soccer have met head-to-head, another record that began in 2008.
Alvaro Morata and Rodri, two key players for the Iberians, initially suffered minor injuries in the opening game.
But after the all-clear was given by the medical department earlier this week, I turned to my favorite European Championship betting provider to find the most exciting Spain Italy odds!
The Spain – Italy prediction of the bookmakers
The final Spain Italy odds for the upcoming clash are now known. With odds of 2.10 to win, the Iberians are the favorites.
A draw, on the other hand, is priced at 3.10, which also underlines the relative balance of this duel.
Finally, the Italy odds are 3.75, which makes the four-time world champions the slight underdogs.
In view of this starting position and the aforementioned Spain odds, however, I’m no longer making a secret of the fact that a win bet on “Espana” is much more appealing to me!
Spain – Italy odds: Where are the highest Spain odds?
The best European Championship odds are generally spread across seven to eight bookmakers, which we present to you in turn.
So you are well equipped to place your bets optimally and always benefit from the best offers.
Of particular interest to me on Thursday, however, are the Spain Italy odds from Oddset. The state bookmaker offers a wide range of betting options and the best odds for this exciting duel.
Analysis: Spain vs Italy
Spain and Italy had to overcome periods of weakness in their opening victories.
The Spaniards shortly after the break, while the defending champions did so towards the end. But of course, the 3:0 victory for the “Furia Roja” was in many ways more convincing than the 1:0 win for the Italians.
Not only was their victory higher: The decisive factor in correctly classifying this success is the fact that it is not easy to inflict such a heavy defeat on a strong footballing country like Croatia.
Albania, on the other hand, were unable to do what they set out to do, despite scoring a lightning goal in the first minute, and could, if not should, have lost by a greater margin.
Álvaro Morata remains the man for the big Spanish moments. The striker, who scored against Croatia and now earns his money back home, has already scored 10 goals in 15 major tournament appearances for Spain.
Only David Villa (13 goals) has also scored in double figures for La Roja in these two competitions.
Morata’s goal on matchday 1 shows that he is always on hand and a real goalscorer at major tournaments
Also interesting: Morata in particular played in Italy for a long time and knows some of his opponents very well.
What’s more, the striker did not pick up a serious injury after his early substitution against Croatia. I therefore see no reason to deviate from my original plans for this game.
Consequently, I will place a goal bet on him as part of my Spain Italy prediction using a verified sports betting app.
His experience and excellent scoring instincts against Serie A defenses could finally pay off for the Furia Roja once again.
Spain Italy odds analysis
My respect for the Azure Blues in the Spain Italy betting is great, which is why I find it difficult to recommend an additional condition such as half-time/final score 1/1 or Spain winning by zero, which I don’t quite believe in myself.
Because at some point the “Azzurri” will play good soccer and put the Iberians in trouble, that much is certain.
However, I would recommend a goal bet on center forward Alvaro Morata, who should open the game with a goal to make it 1:0.
The associated odds are currently 5.00 and are particularly interesting for me because the ex-Juve player has already scored a number of goals worth seeing against Croatia
Spain vs Italy odds: Espana is in top form
Spain have won all three of their previous encounters with reigning European champions, reaching the final on each occasion.
These include a 2-1 win over the Soviet Union in 1964, a 1-0 victory over West Germany in 1984 and a 2-1 win over Greece in 2008.
What’s more, under their new coach, they are finally playing the kind of top-class soccer we only know from their time under Luis Enrique!
Spain have only lost one of their 11 competitive games under Luis de la Fuente (9 wins, 1 draw) and have won their last seven games in a row.
The last time they had a longer winning streak in competitive matches was from October 2016 to October 2017, when they won eight games in a row.
The fearsome opponent has been tamed several times recently!
On the one hand, I’m openly toying with the idea of combining my Euro free bets with a bet on Spain v Italy that sees the Furia Roja emerging victorious.
However, this assumption is based on an assessment of the current playing strength of the Iberians and not on the basis of an evaluation of the direct comparison.
Attention, statistical delicacies for your Spain Italy betting tip: excluding penalty shoot-outs, Italy have only lost one of their ten games against Spain at the European Championship or World Cup (4 wins, 5 draws).
Incidentally, this only defeat came in the final of the 2012 European Championship (0:4).
Starting with a 2:0 win over Spain at the 2020 European Championship, Italy have not lost a tournament match (7 wins, 3 draws).
Their last defeat in this competition came against the Republic of Ireland in the final group game of 2016, having already successfully qualified for the knockout phase before that match.
This statistic in combination with the aforementioned naturally speaks in favor of the “Squadra Azzurra” and could therefore deter some of you from wanting to join my betting tip on Spain vs Italy.
I couldn’t blame the doubters, but it is a proven fact that the Iberians have been able to defeat their “fearful opponents” several times in recent years.
Spain have won their last two matches against Italy, both in the UEFA Nations League.
However, they have admittedly never won three consecutive games against the Azzurri.
In short, two strong teams will undoubtedly meet at Schalke on Thursday, that’s for sure!
But what I saw of the Furia Roja against Croatia in the opening game was in many ways more convincing than what the Italians were able to produce against Albania.
My Spain Italy tip:
It will be a tricky game for Spain, but will it necessarily be more difficult than the one against Croatia?
I doubt it and since the Spain Italy odds are sufficiently high for a simple tip 1 bet, I opt for this option without adding an additional condition.
I liked Spain better on matchday 1 and the coach’s playing philosophy seems to have been fully embraced by his team.
The Italians had strong phases against Albania, but their inability to close the bag against a limited opponent makes me prefer to put my trust in the Iberians in my Spain-Italy prediction
