The equalizer was basically deserved, as the Serbs had the game largely under control. They only managed one real shot on goal against England and four against Slovenia.
The whole of 2024 has been relatively mixed so far, with two wins and two defeats in preparation. It is the first time ever that the team has been allowed to play in a European Championship without regional “appendages”
The team has made it to the World Cup twice in a row and three times in total, but has never progressed beyond the preliminary round. Should they manage a win against Denmark on Tuesday, things would look pretty good.
Incidentally, just before the kick-off against Slovenia, the Serbs are said to have considered withdrawing from the tournament voluntarily.
The reason: In the match between Croatia and Albania, there were allegedly insulting chants against the Falcons.
My Denmark Serbia tip:
Do the Danes have their nerves under control on Tuesday? They need a win against Serbia to qualify for the last 16 of the European Championship. After the double 1:1, that is certainly not a given.
The Serbs have one point to their name, have scored one goal and did so in the last second against Slovenia. The Eagles are not particularly strong offensively, but Denmark have only scored two goals.
All in all, these are two teams who will be nervous and will have to play to win, because only a three-goal win will guarantee promotion.
I therefore opt for a tactical affair and make the following Denmark Serbia prediction:
The Danes will score under 4.5 goals
