NFL 2024/25: Lions – Seahawks

After we were treated to plenty of thrilling football games at the weekend, the matchday is far from over.

There is a duel coming up, for which I have placed a well-considered Lions Seahawks bet in the Betano app. After a difficult start, the Lions and especially Amon-Ra St. Brown are finding their way into the season better and better from game to game.

For decades, Detroit has not really been considered a serious Super Bowl winner. But already last season, things seemed to have changed in this regard.

Especially the offense, driven by the combination of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, knows how to delight.

The coordination problems in weeks one to three now seem to have been eradicated and their average space gained per try continues to increase!

Add to that a defense that is also getting stronger and stronger, keeping their opponents below the 21-point mark despite a negative record of one win and two losses – that’s a real statement.

But the Seahawks haven’t let themselves get down either. Under new head coach Mike MacDonald, Seattle has gotten off to a solid start.

Still, we have to be realistic: The opponents they played in the first three weeks weren’t exactly the cream of the crop in the NFL.

Now they face a real challenge in Detroit, and many US experts, whose opinion I value, are also sure that the Seahawks will be really challenged for the first time.

Detroit is now making far fewer mistakes than at the start of the season, so they will no longer be as hospitable as they were against the Buccaneers two weeks ago.

You might be asking yourself: Who has the advantage here? Sure, Seattle has one of the best defenses when it comes to defending against the pass – only allowing 4.7 yards per throw.

But the Lions have a weapon with their running back combination that will really challenge Seattle on the ground for the first time. So while that number reads quite nice at first glance, it will be “trampled” tonight.

Detroit will try to build on their 20-13 win over the Cardinals last time out. After this game, the Lions will travel to Texas, where a highlight duel against the powerful Dallas Cowboys awaits them.

So it makes a lot of sense for head coach Dan Campbell to really want to win the game against the supposedly weaker Seahawks at all costs in order to get a valuable “W” that his team was denied in the first two weeks of play.

I’m clearly with the Lions here. I understand why the Seahawks seem enticing at first glance, seeing an undefeated 3-0 team in the standings certainly makes you secretly applaud inside at first.

But for me, Seattle is a bit of a cheat, at least when you look at who the Seahawks have played so far – half a dozen NFL teams would probably have been victorious as well.

The Lions, on the other hand, have a strong offensive line and, in my opinion, an underrated defense that seems to have finally found itself after the win over Arizona.

If we now take a look together at interesting data sets that are also worth playing with a Betano promo code, then the attention quickly falls on some statistics that I have researched for you for my Lions Seahawks betting tip.

For example, the Lions have successfully covered the spread in 9 of their last 11 games in September. This currently stands at 3.5 points.

It therefore seems promising to bet on the Lions with a handicap of -3.5 at current odds of 1.90.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is also a player you should definitely keep an eye on. After scoring his first touchdown last week and gaining another 75 yards, he has now really hit form.

It is therefore also worth betting on a touchdown for St. Brown and, with a bit of luck, a whopping average odds of 2.25!

The combination of the Lions’ strong performances and Amon-Ra St. Brown’s individual skills offers a lot of potential for betting strategies.

Conclusion: I am betting on a Lions win in this duel and a touchdown from Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Detroit Lions have an impressive record of 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 September games.

In addition, St. Brown is showing a rising form curve with his first touchdown and over 75 yards of space gained, he is more than ever the “go-to-guy” of his quarterback since the previous week.

My bet: Victory Detroit Lions and Amon Ra St. Brown catches a touchdown!
