Sometimes success really does depend on just one player – even for a top team like Bergamo. Since Ademola Lookman is back, success has suddenly returned to the medieval city at the foot of the Alps.
According to my Atalanta Bergamo Venezia tip, this Saturday’s game should be similar to the one against Empoli a week ago. Because “La Dea” should be able to score almost half a dozen goals against this relegation candidate in this formation too.
Atalanta Bergamo celebrated a confident victory over Empoli last weekend, as I expected, but even I was surprised that the final score was so high, 5-0.
“La Dea” showed their strength in offense and defense in this game, and this convincing victory could mark a turning point.
With the Champions League campaign over, Atalanta can now focus fully on the Serie A, and I expect their performances to be much more stable and better from now on.
The team has the quality to climb back up the league, and the “Bergamaschi” are always a force to be reckoned with, especially when they play against weaker opponents like Venezia.
The return of Ademola Lookman is key to their success.
The Nigerian, who scored two goals in his comeback against Empoli, was the undisputed man of the match. Now the ball is rolling much more smoothly at Atalanta again.
Without Lookman, the Bergamasque offensive often seemed stuck, but with him, the team seems to be finding itself again. (It’s just a shame he wasn’t fit against Bruges).
On the defensive side, there are still some minor issues, such as the loss of defensive leader Hien, but overall, Atalanta looks well-positioned for next Saturday.
There are many signs that the team is back on track in the league to cement its place among the top teams.
In comparison, things are looking anything but rosy for Venezia. Relegation seems almost inevitable for the “Arancioneroverdi”. With Monza, the promoted team is currently one of the worst teams in Serie A.
In recent weeks, the team has shown little progress, and even the tactical changes have not really brought the desired success.
Since the narrow 2-1 win over Cagliari just before Christmas, there have been few signs of improvement in Venice’s playmaking or defense.
Their play is characterized by too little penetration and too many defensive weaknesses, and I firmly believe that they will ultimately lose the fight against relegation.
Venezia are one of the weakest teams in Serie A, especially away from home. In 13 away games, they have not yet recorded a single victory and have conceded a whopping 26 goals – the worst record in the league.
There is practically no area in which Venezia have excelled this season, and that makes the task against a team like Atalanta even more difficult.
The Bergamasque side, on the other hand, are currently strong at home and it is no coincidence that they, along with Inter, have scored the most Serie A goals at their own stadium so far.
Their offense is particularly impressive, having already scored 29 goals at the Stadio Gewiss this season – and that’s with one game less than the Milan side.
One of the best bets to have on your slip here is Atalanta to win after taking the lead at half-time.
The half-time final score odds of 1.70 are quite attractive, and the probability that the home team will actually lead at half-time and win the game in the end is quite high.
The team has already won 12 times this season according to this pattern, more often than any other team in the Serie A.
Conclusion: Venezia will have a very hard time holding their own against Atalanta’s strong offense. The team will once again play passively and have a hard time keeping up with the Bergamasques.
Bergamo are clearly riding a wave of momentum as they head into matchday 27. The return of Lookman has given the offense a much-needed boost, which was sorely needed after the disappointing games against Bruges.
The promoted team, on the other hand, have conceded the most away goals in Serie A, which, combined with La Dea’s home strength, points to another clear home victory at the Stadio Gewiss.
Last week’s high-scoring victory against Empoli could therefore be repeated if the home side can once again fully exploit their attacking power.
My Atalanta Bergamo Venezia betting tip: Atalanta win & Lookman scores.
