ATP Finals 2024 players in singles and doubles

The top eight players from this season are qualified for the tennis season finale. This applies to both singles and doubles.

Who is taking part this year, who are the 2024 ATP Finals participants?

The list of 2024 ATP Finals participants is headed by Jannik Sinner in the singles. The world number one has won two Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open and US Open) and three Masters events this year.

He will be joined by Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) and Alexander Zverev (GER), the number 2 and 3 in the ATP world rankings.

Behind the top trio, the two Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, as well as Taylor Fritz (USA), Caspar Ruud (NOR) and the Australian Alex De Minaur, have also qualified for the season finale.

On the other hand, Novak Djokovic, the best tennis player of all time, will be missing. He has canceled his participation and is taking a vacation instead. This means that for the first time in 23 years (!), the unofficial Tennis World Cup will take place without Federer, Nadal and/or Djokovic.

ATP season finale: groups & mode

The mode: The top eight players or doubles duos of this year will be drawn into two groups of four.

Within the groups, each player plays once against each other player (round robin mode). The top two players/teams from each group advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final winners then meet in the final for the tournament victory.

All singles matches are played in a best-of-three mode, while a doubles match lasts only two sets. If the score is 1-1 in sets, a match tiebreak then decides victory or defeat.

Who are the favorites at the 2024 ATP Finals?

Who will win the ATP Finals 2024? When the top eight players of the year compete in a tournament, this question should normally be difficult to answer.

Nevertheless, Jannik Sinner stands out once again on the list of ATP Finals 2024 players. Not only is the Italian ranked number 1 in the world, but he has also won two Grand Slams and three Masters tournaments this season – all five on hard courts!

In addition, Sinner was in the final of the season-ending tournament last year, but lost to Djokovic. This time, home advantage should help him win the title.

Who else is among the favorites for the 2024 ATP Finals after Sinner?

Alexander Zverev, currently ranked second in the world, is one to watch. The Hamburg native is coming to Turin in strong form, having recently won the Masters in Paris-Bercy. And: Zverev has already won the ATP Finals twice (2018, 2021).

Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz could also be represented in the ATP Finals 2024 schedule for a very long time.

Alcaraz has won two Grand Slam tournaments this year (Wimbledon, French Open) and is always good for tournament victories on hard courts. This year, he won the classic in Indian Wells in March and in Beijing in the fall.

But there are others to consider as favorites for the ATP Finals 2024 before the tournament begins – such as Daniil Medvedev. The Russian is ranked number 5 in the ATP world rankings and is a hard court specialist – even if his form does not seem to be at its best right now.

Last year, Medvedev reached the semi-finals of the season’s final tournament.

The other four ATP Finals 2024 participants – Taylor Fritz, Caspar Ruud, Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev – should be considered co-favorites going into the race.

However, this quartet has only been able to convince to some extent in recent weeks. But in this tournament with a group stage, you can even afford a defeat to still have a chance of winning the tournament.

The best bets for the ATP season finale in Turin

As soon as a major event like the ATP Finals 2023 is on the horizon, interest in tennis will grow even more among sports betting fans.

Which tennis bets are the most popular, and which are suitable for the most important tournament besides the four Grand Slam events? We provide a brief, compact overview here!

1. Siegwette

This is, of course, about who will win the game.

For the favorites for the title – such as Jannik Sinner, for example – the odds, especially against the “underdogs”, are quite low.

That’s why combo bets are also very popular with tipsters here – this way, many small odds can be “pushed” into one big total odds.

Especially since there are several singles and doubles matches scheduled every day at the Final Tournament. Our tip: sports betting without tax

2. Set betting

The ATP Finals 2024 are almost as important as a Grand Slam tournament – however, the matches are played in a best-of-3 format. This means that to win, you need to win at least two sets.

So betting on sets is the way to go here.

The bet that remains is “Over 2.5 sets in the game”. This bet wins if more than two sets are played – that is, if both players have won at least one set.

Particularly when two equally skilled players face each other, the probability that both can win a set is quite high.

In tennis live betting, set betting is also popular because in tennis, due to the regular changes of sides and serves, there is plenty of time to analyze and place bets.

In addition, there are different forms and types of set betting.

On the one hand, as an outcome bet – e.g. “Jannik Sinner wins 2-0” (meaning: Sinner wins two sets, the opponent none) – or as a handicap bet. The idea here is to give the underdog a virtual lead of, say, one set.

3. Tie-Break

Since the matches at the season-ending tournament can go to three sets, there is also an increased likelihood that at least one set will go to a tie-break.

The best tennis bookmakers have the betting market “Will there be a tie-break in the game” in their tennis betting program for their ATP Finals 2024 bets and odds.

This bet makes particular sense when two players of roughly equal ability face each other or when two players with strong serves face each other.

4. Long-term bets

The final tournament of the year is perfect for long-term bets.

In addition to bets on the eventual tournament winner, the best tennis betting providers also offer a variety of other betting options for the tournament.

Because the tournament starts in two groups of four, the special bet “Who will win the group?” or “Who will reach the semi-finals?” is in high demand.
The selection of bets for the ATP Finals 2024 is not quite as extensive as for a major football tournament, which is also due to significantly fewer participants, but a few betting options are still quite popular:

“Who will reach the final” and ‘Which group will the winner come from’ are just two examples.

However, the ATP season-ending tournament also offers betting odds on all eight participants. For example, on advancing to the semi-finals or on which group place the respective player will finish the preliminary round.
