Soon it will be gone, the once comfortable lead! FC Barcelona has started to falter in the championship race, made several mistakes and is now under pressure to lose the top position soon.
A home game against a promoted team – that must be a safe bet!
Admittedly, you might think at first glance, but I will now tell you in my Barcelona Leganes tip why a 3-0 handicap could be worthwhile for the guests here too!
Eleven wins from the first twelve games, plus 40 goals? An almost perfect start! Everything seemed to be going well for FC Barcelona. Under new coach Hansi Flick, things were going exactly as they had hoped.
When they lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad on matchday 13, the fans had no idea that this would be the start of a somewhat difficult phase from which Barca has not yet emerged.
2-2 against Celta Vigo and 1-2 against Las Palmas, a relegation candidate – the confusion was palpable. Many thought a little later: 5-1 win against Mallorca, now the team is back on track.
Admittedly, I too was relatively sure that nothing would go wrong again. The away game at Betis Sevilla taught me better, because here again they didn’t win, drawing 2-2.
A goal conceded from a penalty, the other deep into stoppage time, the sovereignty of the title contender seems to have disappeared! In three of the last four games, two goals have been conceded, and the two games before the winter break must now be brought to a close properly.
Real Madrid are just two points behind, and since the Whites have a game in hand, Barca could lose their lead in the table.
Well, three of the four slip-ups were away, so maybe the fact that they have a home game coming up will help. The Catalans need to put the recent result, the strange 1-2 against Las Palmas, behind them.
Previously, it had never seemed as if Barcelona would be able to stumble at the Olympic Stadium. They started this season with five home wins, although only two of them had more than a two-goal lead.
What role does it play that Barca was on the road internationally a few days ago? In the Champions League, the opponent was Borussia Dortmund, and in an intense clash, Barca won 3-2.
Is it a bad omen that the premier class called? FCB has already been unable to win its league game after a European appearance three times and conceded goals in four out of five cases.
Not a bad indication, because a single goal from Leganes on Sunday is available at odds of 1.95 at Interwetten!
Incidentally, this is the first time the two clubs have faced each other in four and a half years.
If our bookmakers have their way, it’s a no-brainer: 1.15 to 16.0, it can only be a clear home win! Leganes has three wins to its name, making it quite clearly one of the relegation candidates.
One of the problems is that all of their wins have come at home, so they have not had a single away win. It’s not as if Leganes are coming home without any points either.
There have been five draws in total! Four times, the scoreboard showed a 1-1. So I have to take a quick look at Bet365 to see that this outcome bet would bring in a great odds of 15.0!
The visitors’ defense is not that bad away from home, only conceding more than one goal in three games. And the defeats have not been by much, with the margin never exceeding two goals.
Not everything is going perfectly and flawlessly in Barcelona after all! After just one win in their last five games, the Catalans have to tighten the reins again, and the defense can show itself from a more secure side again.
Leganes are winless away from home, but after my analysis, I would not underestimate the guests in any way. A draw has emerged five times already, and there has never been a clear loss.
Barca will have to put in a strong performance after their appearance in the Champions League to get back into a positive streak. And one thing is for sure: in Madrid, no one would be sad about another failure. So my tip is:
The guests will “win” by a 3-0 handicap!
