Süper Lig, Sunday, 10/11/2024, 5:00 PM
It started so well for Besiktas – and is now going downhill so rapidly! The Black Eagles have to be very careful not to slip into a real crisis in the Süper Lig, two defeats in a row are enough!
On Sunday, there is another small derby on the program, and the opponent is not exactly brimming with self-confidence either.
Reason enough to tell you now in my Basaksehir Besiktas tip why I can’t find a favorite and therefore focus on the draw bet.
It won’t be the derby defeat against Galatasaray, of all things, that pulls the plug on Besiktas far too early in the season, will it? The Black Eagles wanted to show everyone in 2024/25 that they were finally back in the title race.
The euphoria among the fans was huge when they won the national Super Cup with a whopping 5-0 against Galatasaray before the start of the Süper Lig. But just a few weeks later, things are looking different again.
The Lions are pulling ahead, while Besiktas have fallen behind after five wins and one draw at the start. Three points from the last four games, that doesn’t meet their own expectations, of course.
After the 1-2 loss to Gala, Besiktas surprisingly lost 1-3 to Kasimpasa a few days ago. Ernest Muci had even scored the lead, but after the break, the Eagles, for whatever reason, collapsed.
Was it because of a substitution during half-time? Ciro Immobile, the club’s top transfer, was the one to leave the pitch! The Italian is struggling with a thigh strain and will be out for about ten days.
He will definitely not be able to play against Basaksehir, so his absence weighs particularly heavily, as he has scored twelve goals in 16 competitive games.
Emirhan Topcu’s fourth yellow card should not be ignored either, so the defensive leader will also be watching on Sunday.
A win from the last four away games? No matter who is on the pitch at the weekend, everyone should know that Besiktas have not been at their best away from home recently.
Is it an advantage or a disadvantage that the eagles were also on the road in Europe during the week? In the Euro League, they faced Malmö on Thursday.
With two defeats in their last nine direct duels, Basaksehir can’t be counted among the feared opponents. At the same time, a glance at the history quickly shows how close both teams come in almost every match.
Since 2010, there have only been three games that had a two-goal difference, all the others were really as close as possible! No wonder that no winner could be found at all 13 times during this period.
Incidentally, the last four games only revealed six goals, so it doesn’t necessarily have to be a festival of goals. How do our bookmakers assess the situation? They favor Besiktas, with odds ranging from 2.30 to 3.15 on average.
This is certainly also due to the fact that the hosts have completely lost their strong line. Basaksehir has not won in four games, and there is no longer any reminder that they had previously won three games in a row.
At least I can report: When Basaksehir play at home, they get points. 4:2 against Alanyaspor and 5:2 against Antalyaspor? It started really spectacularly, but the team has since refrained from doing so.
1:1 against Kayserispor and 1:1 against Eyüpspor, the fans were rather disappointed in the end. Basaksehir fell behind in all four home games, with the opponents leading 1:0 three times.
If Besiktas also scores the first goal in the game on Sunday, you would expect odds of 1.87 at Betano.
Maybe interesting for you: In both matches in 2023/24, exactly that happened.
Satisfaction? I don’t find it with either Basaksehir or Besiktas! The hosts have relaxed, only managed to keep a clean sheet for the first time, and now only refer to the fact that they have not yet lost at home.
Besiktas, on the other hand, has to be very careful after the two defeats, especially because they don’t like to play away from home anyway. The direct comparison was also very interesting for me, as it shows how close it is here.
The bottom line is that two teams are meeting here that know that not everything is going perfectly. And since the direct duels often don’t have a winner, I’ve decided on the following, slightly riskier bet:
Besiktas and Basaksehir share the points!
