Immediately after the 0-0 draw against Curacao and the missed direct World Cup qualification, Jamaica’s national coach Steve McClaren announced his resignation. “It’s the coach’s responsibility to lead the way, take responsibility and make decisions in the best interests of the team so that they can progress,” said the 64-year-old former Wolfsburg player. Jamaica now has the play-offs for the World Cup in front of them, but is without a coach.
