FC Ingolstadt has brought Achim Beierlorzer to the Danube as its new head coach. The 58-year-old will succeed Sabrina Wittmann, from whom FCI had just parted ways. She was the first woman to take over a professional team in men’s football in May 2024, but after a disappointing start to the season in the 3rd division, she now had to leave. Beierlorzer has worked as coach of Jahn Regensburg, 1. FC Cologne and Mainz 05, among others.
