The air is burning in Turkey: The cup winner will be crowned on Thursday and the following weekend will decide whether Galatasaray or Fenerbahce will become champions. Why is the final of the Türkiye Kupasi taking place before the season finale?

On arrival in the round of the best four, the teams then played back-and-forth matches. Trabzonspor first won narrowly 3:2 against Karakgümrük, but in the second game the third-placed team left no doubt with a 4:0 victory.
And yet: Five of the six results were extremely close, with only a one-goal advantage. Trabzonspor have not drawn in the league since mid-January, which is certainly not uninteresting for a knockout clash
The points have only been shared four times, will that rule out extra time on Thursday? Let’s take a look at the direct comparison against Besiktas, which looks interesting.

Nine goals in a row for both sides, but three in a row recently? It’s hard to find facts in history that you can really rely on. So what makes the bookmakers put Trabzonspor in the role of the underdog?
The average odds at Bet365 are 2.35 to 3.05 in favor of Besiktas, at least as far as the win in regular time is concerned. With regard to the cup win, values of 1.80 to 2.00 can be seen, also in favor of the Black Eagles.
Besiktas must make sure on Thursday that what should be a completely botched season is still a small success. They are fifth in the league and have a small chance of finishing fourth next weekend.
After all, the club can qualify for the Europa League via the cup. Is the Türkiye Kupasi a welcome competition? The last time the title was won was in 2021 and the last time a final was lost was in 2002
Having reached five cup triumphs since then, nerves usually seem to hold in such matches. Besiktas beat Ankaragücü in the semi-finals (0:0 and 1:0), but certainly did not celebrate any roaring soccer festivals.

It’s a knockout game, a match in which it’s all or nothing! Besiktas and Trabzonspor are fighting for the cup. According to the direct duel, Trabzonspor should be ahead, but according to nerves in the final, it would be Besiktas.
Trabzonspor should definitely be in a better position. The Black Eagles have been anything but stable in foreign stadiums this year, especially in defense. At the same time, however, their opponents are always up for a result.
