Conference League, Final, Wednesday, 05/28/2025, 9:00 p.m.
A very special match awaits us! The top international leagues are over, and now UEFA has two of its three finals to play. Betis Sevilla and Chelsea FC will face each other in the Conference League final today, Wednesday.
While the Blues have a wealth of experience in European cup finals, the situation is quite different for the Andalusians. That alone could mean that the team from the English capital is the clear favorite.
In the tournament so far, which certainly plays a role in the odds, Chelsea has been the much better team. Betis, I have to be honest in my analysis, which is about to start, has stumbled its way into this final, winning just half of its games.
In my Betis Sevilla Chelsea tip, I’m therefore going for the “double chance X2.” Since the Spaniards have not stood out with their attacking football in this ECL season and finals are often tactical affairs, I’m adding “under 3.5 goals.”
All in all, I can imagine a close result, but only with the English side as favorites. Anyone who has followed Chelsea in recent years knows that the Blues are good at finals and don’t care how deserved the title is in the end!
The bookmakers’ prediction
There’s no doubt about it: Chelsea are the favorites going into this final. If you want to place a classic win bet with our bookmakers, you can do so at odds of 1.80. The odds for Betis Sevilla, on the other hand, are 4.00.
At the same time, it is of course also possible to bet on the cup winner – this also includes extra time and penalties. At 1.40 to 2.90, the English side’s lead now looks a little different.
Since all three Conference League finals to date have been extremely close, a draw is not a bad option. If there is no decision after 90 minutes + X tonight and you have bet on exactly that, you can take odds of 3.50.
AI prediction Betis Sevilla vs Chelsea: ChatGPT’s prediction
ChatGPT hasn’t dealt with a Conference League final all that often. Will the AI manage to make an accurate prediction for today? The three betting tips are certainly interesting.
I particularly like the result bet, which predicts a 1-0 win for Chelsea FC. I also expect a close result, as two of the three ECL finals (one after extra time) have already ended 1-0.
You also get the tip to bet on “under 2.5 goals.” Since my betting combination is similarly cautious, I also agree with this suggestion.
“Chelsea will win the Conference League” is bet number three from ChatGPT’s perspective. That’s not 100% in my combination, but I have to give it a nod here too. Chelsea has more experience in finals and has been much more convincing throughout the season.

Analysis: Betis Sevilla vs Chelsea
Here we are again! Chelsea FC and European finals somehow always seem to go together at regular intervals. In 2021, the London club won the Champions League, and in 2019, they won the Europa League.
The fact that only one of five major finals has been lost should give the fans some encouragement. But let’s take a look at what the team has achieved this season.
They qualified for the Champions League in fourth place in the Premier League, which is something to be very happy about. Chelsea started the Conference League as big favorites from the outset.
The group stage went smoothly, but their opponents—Heidenheim, Noah, Panathinaikos, Gent, Astana, and Shamrock Rovers—were, of course, all teams they were expected to beat.
Odds analysis
I see good chances for a narrow victory for the Blues with a one-goal lead. Accordingly, I can recommend this bet with a clear conscience. If the Londoners win in this manner, Bet365 is offering odds of 3.75.
I also believe Chelsea will want to make a statement in the first half. The bet on a half-time lead is quite profitable, so we’re sticking with Bet365 and securing odds of 2.35.
Conversely, this means that I can also get behind the betting option “Half-time/Full-time 2/2.” The odds climb a little higher, looking quite good at 2.87.
Chelsea always in control
The round of 16 against Copenhagen was a little closer, with the favorites advancing 2-1 and 1-0. Chelsea took a 3-0 lead against Legia Warsaw, so the 1-2 defeat in the second leg was inconsequential.
Djurgarden, their opponents in the semi-finals, didn’t stand a chance, with the Londoners securing two wins, 4-1 and 1-0. All in all, the team won eleven out of twelve games, with just one minor slip-up.
The Blues went into halftime with a lead seven times and conceded only three goals in the first 45 minutes. In addition, the English side scored seven times three or more times.
Chelsea FC will also be pleased with how Betis Sevilla has performed against clubs from the island so far. Of eight matches, only one was won. But: The opponent here was Chelsea, of all teams.
I take a quick look at the history, but to be honest, I’m done pretty quickly. In 1998, the two clubs faced each other twice in the European Cup, with the favorites from England winning 2-1 and 3-1.
In 2005, the two sides met again in the group stage of the Champions League. Chelsea won 4-0 and Betis 1-0, with legends such as Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Joe Cole and Jose Mourinho on the pitch for the Blues.
Everything is new for Betis
For the Spaniards, however, it is clear that they are the underdogs going into tonight’s match. Has there ever been a final in European competition? The simple and quick answer is no, there hasn’t!
The Beticos have reached the round of 16 in the Champions League three times, most recently in 2023, but their current performance is in a completely different league. But Betis must admit that they have been very lucky.
In the preliminary round, they beat Helsinki (1-0), Petrocub (1-0), and Celje (2-1), although the three opponents were not on the same level in terms of quality, and the victories were very narrow.
A 0-1 defeat to Legia Warsaw, a 1-1 draw with Copenhagen and a 1-2 loss to Mlada Boleslav meant that the group stage was definitely not a convincing performance. In the intermediate round, however, the offensive knot was finally broken.
2:2 and 4:0 against Vitoria Guimaraes – it’s possible! They progressed against Jagiellonia with a 2:0 and 1:1 draw, before Betis knocked Fiorentina out in the semi-finals. After a 2:1 win in the first leg, the Andalusians went into extra time trailing 1:2.
They kept their nerve and reached the final thanks to a 2-2 draw. The win rate is exactly 50 percent, and with this mixed bag of results, they will have to do well to finish in the top two.
Does it matter that Betis haven’t won their last four league games? After all, they managed to secure sixth place. In terms of the Conference League, I would definitely like to mention that the Andalusians only conceded two goals in the first half.
My Betis Sevilla Chelsea tip:
From the outset, Chelsea FC were considered the top favorites in the Conference League, and today, Wednesday, the Blues could be crowned champions. The course of the competition so far suggests that every opponent is being taken seriously – but Betis Sevilla are no weak opponents either.
I have noticed that the Beticos have been very lucky to reach this final. With narrow victories and several games not won, the stars from Andalusia should know that it could have turned out very differently.
Accordingly, I’m sticking with the favorites from London and assume that the Blues won’t let too much happen defensively. That leads me to recommend the following tip:
After 90 minutes, Chelsea will still be in the running with a maximum of three goals!
