NFL 2026/27: Bills vs Lions Betting Tip, Prediction & Odds
The “Electric Company” provided what was probably the most gripping game of Week 1 last week. Now my Bills Lions tip heralds the second week of play in the NFL, in which you can participate at all betting levels at our sports betting providers.
Last year it would have been a tighter box, but in the here and now I see Josh Allen and Co. in a much better position to set an example early in the season.

It’s not quite as one-sided a matter as the bookmakers think, so I only dare to make a handicap bet here. Buffalo should have the upper hand, but it may not be a double-digit lead.
What the Lions bring with them again in 2026 is offensive potential that can ignite at any time. And since the Bills defense handed out plenty of gifts last week with 85 yards of penalties, Over 52.5 points would be a pretty smart move.
The odds for this are a strong 1.68 on average, which is worth taking a closer look at. The historic 48-42 win of almost two years ago in favor of the Bills already shows what is possible with this pairing.
Furthermore, I would also try the player bet Josh Allen with touchdown at odds of 1.79. The Bills’ playmaker usually likes to run the ball as much as he likes to throw it.
Already against Houston, he used the surprise effect to force several runs and score two rushing touchdowns himself. Against the somewhat cumbersome defense of the Lions, he can also start a sprint almost at will!
Detroit didn’t really impress me anyway with the narrow overtime win over New Orleans in Week 1. If the Saints had been able to rely on the same key players of the Bills, the Lions would hardly have left the field as winners.

- Historic away curse of the Lions: I see glaring problems away from home at Detroit in the early phase of the season; the Lions have lost 14 of their last 15 away games in Week 2.
- Early lightning starts of the home side: The Bills get up to operating temperature as usual quickly in the September games; Buffalo scored the first touchdown of the evening in five of the last six Week 2 games.
- Cook’s reliable running performance after away wins: In the Bills’ backfield, a reliable ball carrier shines; James Cook has scored at least 74 rushing yards in each of the last seven games after an away win.
- Gibbs as a September spectacle: The attacking line of the guests, for its part, relies on strong impulses on the ground; Jahmyr Gibbs ran for at least 91 rushing yards in three of the Lions’ last four September games.
