Brazil – Chile Tip World Cup Qualification, Matchday 17 on Friday, 09/05/25 at 02:30
Yes, Brazil is not playing an outstanding World Cup qualifier and has only won 7 of its 16 games so far. However, the five-time world champions are still clear favorites against Chile. The Chileans are playing a qualifier to forget.
In my Brazil vs. Chile prediction, I expect a clear victory for the Brazilians. The fact that Chile has only scored one away goal in the entire qualifying campaign inevitably leads me to predict a “Brazil win without conceding a goal.” Given the statistics, the odds of around 1.70 are still rather generous.
An alternative tip is to bet on “Brazil to score over 2.5 goals.” The odds are around 2.15, which I think offers sufficient value. Brazil won their last home qualifying game against Chile 4-0.
My Brazil vs. Chile prediction: BRA to win to nil
These are the arguments for my tip:
- Chile has scored only one goal in its eight away games in the current World Cup qualifiers.
- In their last match against Brazil, the Chileans only had 29% possession.
- In the 16 qualifying matches played so far, Chile has scored only 9 goals in total.
Brazil vs. Chile AI predictions:
Our in-house AI model is of course happy to oblige and, upon polite request, presents its very own Brazil Chile AI prediction.
First, the AI puts forward the bet “Brazil to win with Asian handicap -1.5, -2.0.” I don’t want to disagree here. I expect a clear victory for the Brazilians. And the expected offensive restraint of the Chileans makes it even more likely that the handicap will go through.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Brazil to win |
Draw |
Chile to win |
| 78% |
16% |
6% |
The AI model also has its eye on the tip “Brazil to win & over 2.5 goals.” I think a 3-0 win for the favorites is by no means unrealistic, especially since Chile is unlikely to be highly focused after missing out on the World Cup. The odds of around 1.80 are rather generous.
The third bet in the AI bundle is simply “Brazil leads at halftime.” Bet365 Germany is offering odds of around 1.70 for a 1-0 lead for Brazil at halftime. This is rather surprising given the clear starting position.
What you need to consider when betting on Brazil vs. Chile
- If Chile wants to win in Brazil, they will have to make history. The Chileans have never won in Brazil before.
- At home, Brazil averages 1.86 goals per 90 minutes in World Cup qualifying. Brazil is certainly capable of scoring a lot of goals, but they have scored two or more goals in only four of their 16 qualifying games.
- Chile has scored only nine goals in 16 qualifying games. In eight away games, they scored only one goal and lost seven of them.
- Since 2000, Chile has beaten Brazil only twice in 22 games. Going back even further, to 1916, Brazil has scored 174 goals against Chile, while Chile has scored 64, with Brazil winning 55 of the 76 meetings.
- Only Raphinha (5 goals) and Rodrygo (3 goals) have scored more than two goals for Brazil in the current FIFA World Cup qualifiers after 16 games. Only five players have scored more than once.
