Bundesliga 33rd matchday, Saturday, 10.05.2025 at 15:30
Fourth place – the big goal of currently five teams! As the Bundesliga enters its 33rd round, things couldn’t be more exciting. RB Leipzig have a duty to win, otherwise they could be out of the top flight even before the season finale. But: The upcoming opponent is also fighting for Europe.
In my Werder Bremen RB Leipzig betting tip, I not only analyze the two teams, but also take a look at the crazy battle for the best places. SVW know that they only have an outside chance of winning
In the end, I’m almost certain that goals will be scored here. Accordingly, I opt for an offensive combination bet, which includes goals on both sides as well as an “over 2.5 goals”. In the first half of the season, this duel even brought six goals to light.
Bremen, as I will come to in the course of my analysis, are definitely facing one of their most feared opponents. However, word has probably spread to the far north that Leipzig have major problems away from home and are under pressure to win at all costs.
All in all, I have no doubt that this will be a damn interesting match that could go either way. As a neutral spectator, I’ll make a wish: Give us a nice 4:4!
The bookmakers’ forecast?
I’ll take a look at our bookmakers, where you can also pay out via PayPal. Is there a favorite there? Not really, the odds for both teams are very close together.
Bremen are going into the match with average odds of 2.40, although they have only won two of 16 duels against Leipzig. The visitors from Saxony are getting slightly higher odds, with 2.70 to be expected.
With a 3.60, the draw is not particularly conspicuous. Since the last direct duels, which I will examine in more detail later, have been very close, I would not rule out the division of points – it just doesn’t do much for either team.
AI prediction Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig: ChatGPT
This duel has it all in terms of the fight for the international places. Reason enough to ask ChatGPT which bets are recommended for Saturday.
The tip, which implies a relatively high risk, is 1/1 – a Bremen lead at half-time, which also leads to a home win. SVW have led after the first 45 minutes in four of their 16 home games – so I’d be a little cautious about this bet.
If Bremen score the first goal of the game, you’d be in the medium-risk area. To be honest, I can imagine either side taking the lead and think both bets are equally likely.
The classic “both teams score” is very popular with the AI – and is also part of my betting recommendation. So of course I agree here, also for the following reason: both teams have been netting for seven matches
Analysis: Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig
What will it be for RB Leipzig, the Champions League or a 2025/26 season without any international competition at all? The current sixth-placed team knows: we can’t afford to slip up in the last two games.
Freiburg, in fourth place, have just two points less, with BVB in between. But Mainz and Bremen are pressing from behind. There’s no question that this battle for the top flight and the other European competitions is more than a little crazy.
Leipzig still have Bremen and Stuttgart ahead of them. Last weekend, RB drew 3-3 against FC Bayern, and the last-second equalizer made it feel a little bit like a win.
Nevertheless, we must not neglect our defense: In the last two games, a whole seven goals have been conceded. They haven’t won in three games, and the 1-1 draw against Kiel was anything but exhilarating.
Odds Analysis
The last five Leipzig games have featured nine goals – all in the first half. Accordingly, I can get on board with the “Both teams to score” bet based on the first 45 minutes. At Bwin you get odds of 3.20.
Will more than 1.5 goals be scored in the first half? Not out of the question in my eyes. If you place this bet and are correct, Bwin will give you odds of 2.15. Incidentally, you can also redeem the Bwin voucher here; the deposit bonus doubles your first deposit up to €100.
And if I had to decide on a result bet, I would go with 2:2. I think Bremen are definitely strong enough to keep up here. If you want to take the risk, Interwetten offers odds of 9.50. The 11 euro free bet is not to be neglected with this bookmaker.
Werder Bremen vs. RB Leipzig: Home weakness against away problems?
One of the biggest problems is the statistics on the road. If we look at the last nine away games, we can only see one win – and something almost went wrong in the 3-2 win against Wolfsburg.
Leipzig failed to score five times in this period, with teams such as Union Berlin, Bochum, Augsburg, Gladbach and Frankfurt hardly giving Leipzig a chance. The Saxons didn’t even win a third of all their away games.
At least I can say that the team has already scored 13 points after falling behind. Opponents will have to watch out for Benjamin Sesko, especially in the first half.
The attacker has already scored five goals in the first 15 minutes and was also successful against FC Bayern. A fit Sesko is also so important because not all of Leipzig’s stars will be able to travel to Bremen this weekend.
David Raum and Kevin Kampl are serving a yellow card, which is unlikely to send the already unsafe defense into a frenzy of joy. In this regard, you can of course say: Bremen will take advantage of this circumstance and score more than 1.5 goals.
Will the Saxons withstand the CL pressure?
The odds for this tip jump up to 1.87 at Oddset. Werder scored two goals in the first half of the season – but they also conceded four. It was the tenth game in a row that they failed to win against Leipzig.
With two wins in 16 encounters, I obviously can’t speak of a favorite opponent. But if we take a look at the results, it becomes clear that there is by no means a difference in class here.
1:1, 1:1, 1:2, 1:2, 1:2 n. V., before the 2:4, the games were always on a knife’s edge. The Green-Whites have been unbeaten for six games and yet are somehow not entirely satisfied.
After wins against Kiel (3:0), Frankfurt (2:0), Stuttgart (2:1) and Bochum (1:0), they faced St. Pauli and Union Berlin, where they were naturally aiming for six points.
0:0 against Pauli and 2:2 against Union, Bremen possibly squandered crucial points here. I definitely have to mention that the team has gone three home games without conceding a goal.
And yet: The third-best away team in the league (and with a goal difference of -1) has only won five out of 16 home games this season. But: Mainz and Frankfurt were two of their opponents who play at the top of the table.
Only twice this season have Werder gone into the break with a half-time lead when playing at the Weserstadion. Regardless of the venue, I only come across eight leads after 45 minutes anyway.
My Werder Bremen RB Leipzig tip:
Which teams will be in the Champions League in 2025/26? RB Leipzig have not yet lost their chance, but they will probably need two wins (and perhaps also mistakes by the competition). Easy? Certainly not away from home.
The Saxons have been weakening away from home for months now. On the other hand, Werder Bremen are not exactly known as a particularly strong team at home. But they have not lost for several weeks now.
The bottom line is that I expect the two teams to have a close, intense race for victory, because a point helps nobody. I therefore opt for the following bet:
Both score over 2.5 goals!
