Ligue 1, Saturday, 01/02/2025 at 5:00 pm
Ten points ahead, even though they once again managed to draw – it can only be Paris St. Germain! The starting group from the capital will probably decide on its own how big the lead will be at the end of the season.
On Saturday, the Parisians travel to Brest for the CL clash, which is actually a favorite opponent. But who knows, maybe the European Cup has cost them too much energy? In any case, in my Brest PSG betting tip, I’ll tell you why I’m betting on a 2-0 handicap for the home side.
Best offense, strongest defense, ten-point lead, undefeated, the occasional draw, always on top of everything? Yes, I could actually summarize my PSG analysis that briefly!
In the first season without Kylian Mbappe, they are leaving nothing to be desired in Ligue 1, but of course they are also benefiting from the fact that none of their competitors is really performing strongly and seriously threatening PSG.
Last weekend, the serial champions only played 1-1 against Reims, it was their fifth draw this season. There have already been four 1-1 draws, and whenever only one point was on the board at the end of the game, PSG were not leading at half-time.
An interesting fact, because I can only count a total of seven games in which the stars were not ahead after the first 45 minutes. Eleven of their 17 conceded goals, which are also important to you, came AFTER half-time.
So, is it worth betting on Brest being successful in the second half? At Interwetten, where I also found my main tip, this bet would get you odds of 2.25. Maybe you already know that new customers can look forward to a top freebet here.
What’s more, you can get up to 100 euros for your bets. Click on the graphic, register and collect the full new customer bonus from Interwetten.
Interwetten would also be one of my first ports of call regarding the upcoming federal election in Germany. The decision will be made on February 23, and of course you can already find out about all the current forecasts from us.
Is there any indication that Paris might be having a harder time abroad? Not really, the results are almost identical. It can therefore be described as a luxury problem that the Parisians have only played twice without conceding away from home.
The league could be affected sooner rather than later by the premier class. With only ten points, the French went into the last matchday of the preliminary round, with a trip to VfB Stuttgart on the program.
Once there, however, the Parisians showed: We’re not going to let anything get in our way. They took a 4-1 win from the region, thus averting the threat of elimination and now competing in the playoffs.
Brest is generally regarded as PSG’s favorite opponent, and this applies to almost all French teams. 3-1 in the league, 3-1 in the cup, they have already won twice this season.
16 wins and one draw? Wow, with this record, nothing can go wrong! Since 2012, Paris has always scored at least twice against Brest, with one exception.
But: there has not been a result in Ligue 1 with a three-goal lead for four years. So Brest is putting up quite a fight against the overpowering opponent.
So it will certainly be possible to cope with the fact that the odds in our best sports betting apps are quite clear at 6.00 to 1.50. At least the underdog was able to relax a little more during the week.
The Champions League debutant was able to play his home game against Real Madrid with a whopping 13 points. The 0-3 defeat may not have been pleasing, but it was still enough to reach the playoffs.
Admittedly, things could be going a bit better in the league. The Pirates have already lost nine times, which is the result of the fact that they have actually only managed a single point-sharing.
However, they are definitely doing better at home, where they have only lost twice. On the first matchday, they lost 5-1 to Marseille, and in November they lost 1-0 to Nice.
Incidentally, after that 5-1 defeat, the Reds never conceded more than one home goal again. They are currently in good form anyway, having actually won twice in a row away from home, making it three wins in a row for the first time this season!
Successful for three games: Ludovic Ajorque, who many still know from Mainz. Speaking of Mainz: the 05ers open the Bundesliga’s 20th matchday in Bremen on Friday. Our expert Alex will therefore tell you in his Bremen Mainz tip which match he expects.
Brest have won six times at home, six times they have already led at half-time. There was one draw, and it was also a draw at half-time. They lost twice, trailing after the first 45 minutes in both cases – it doesn’t get much clearer than that!
Will PSG get the expected three points in Brest? While the bookmakers’ odds are very clear, I am a little less euphoric. The Pirates are getting into really good form, and I have them on my radar at home anyway.
They have not conceded more than one goal since August, and have only lost once since then. Okay, the head-to-head is clear, but you don’t have to bet on an outsider’s victory.
In my opinion, a handicap bet is an excellent choice. Paris are likely to have a tough time after the CL week, and that’s why I say:
Brest wins by a 2-0 handicap!
